Can you concentrate writing while listening to music?

I put on the music while doing my homework all the time. I just need the background music to help me with the boring homework. It feel like someone is there, while you do your boring homework. I am used to it and it doesn't distract me.:D

personally listening to music while i work helps me concentrate on wat im doin better idk y its just me. i guess its just the person it varies alot

I can concentrate fine with any background noise including music.

For me I love music a lot, but to write while listening I just cannot seem to be able to do it. I sure wish I could, but I guess for me I can only do one thing at a time. I am glad others though can do it.

hi there...well,most of the time... like 75% unless of couse, i am not feeling tired or i am tired. but of course not rock music sort of stuff... Josh Groban songs help me think.. hahahhaa.... something about his voice... sigh...

i acn only concentrate on one thing at a time.... when i am writing something and thinking too alongside then i wouldnt want to have any kind of disturbance or noise or music around me.....
now when i am writting this post itself my dad's put some classical music in the background like he loves to do every morning and he is also talking on the phone ....which is a major disturbance for me...cos more than the music i can hear him talking with his friend and my mind keeps deviating there all the time.....
but i try getting it back to the post but its very irritating in the end!!
the music doesnt make too much of a difference unless i like the song and want to sing along......
thats when i would either sing the song or post.....
so normally i like it when the house is quite and peacful but sometimes i also like it if there is some soft music in the background.....
many times i used to use music while studying when i was in school....
i wonder how i managed to study while music was blarring out of the speakers but i did it!!

Not really, sometimes I found music pretty distracting while I was writing. But the really depends on situation. Sometimes, I found music pretty soothing, and I can write many pages. That really depends on situation on me. I won't say music is distracting my writing constantly.

I actually prefer to have some form of a white noise on while I'm writing or drawing or whatever. I also like to read with music on but I couldn't really do that up until recently. I think that my mind really works well when it has all sorts of elements going on around it. When I have auditory and visual things to focus on while I'm trying to create it helps me start to think and get a lot of ideas flowing.

I am so glad you asked this question....My friends think that I am weird because I love listening to music while I am writing.....Actually I have a huge problem with silence....If I am reading I have to have the television on.....If I am writing or typing I have to listen to music....I am currently in school working on an associates in Psychology....Every paper I have written I was listening to music....I haven't received anything less than a B yet....So for me in some weird way music and multitasking connect....
