Can you concentrate writing while listening to music?

i am also like you.i like to listen to music while mylotting.when reading some comments.i am all charged up.but music calms me down.

I love listening to my favorite music while I am working..It motivates me too and make me love to work more! LOL!

But, I know there are destruction like I will stop and sing with the music but I don't care about it as long as I am not bored!

Mainly writing or reading...
One of my friend used to study for his exams while listening to music. And he says it makes him easier to study and remember stuff and increases his memory power when he is listening to music.
I know a lot of poeple who work in my office listening to music all the time... But they do good work too.
I somehow feel that when you are doing multitasking, only one of the task becomes your primary and all others become secondary...
In my case when I listen to music and write something... writing becomes primary and much of my concentration is on writing, thereby not enjoying the real music.... weird???

Yes, I can concentrate on writing while listening to music. I often put some songs up while doing stuff. It keeps me in an upbeat mood. I got to admit though that at certain times, I get distracted and would rather listen to the songs itself. Or if not, if it is a really serious topic I am writing on and needs my full concentration, I'll turn off my player first.

there r soless people who can do two works concentradely.
in olden days they r called "astavadhanas"...they can do 8 works at atime.
they will get more respect in society.

Im a music lover and i don't mind having it on while im doing things. I use to it also. I get so board if it is so quite. Music is always be my companion from house to work. I can even have a good night sleep with the music on. I like to listen the smooth jazz or something very soothing. Happy mylotting

it depends on what I am writing. If I am writing something casual,then there is nothing wrong with listening to music, it can even motivate me while writing my thoughts on somewhere. However, if I am writing a scientific report or something like that,then it is just not a very good idea to keep listening music while trying to concentrate on the topic. of course, the situation might change from person to person:)

i can´t concectrate zandi.even tv on i can´t! because the computer is beside the tv and very close to me so i need to ignore the other side of ears.

I really don't think you can, because I try to study with Kelly CLarkson, and it is impossible. I do love classical music though, it's great, try that if you ever really need to concentrate - it lulls you into stuyding mode.

I often listen to music while I am writing and music makes me happy, so it has a postive effect on my work. If it is a song in Danish, English or another langauge that I understand I sometimes become distracted by the words of the song, so I often prefer to listen to music in a language that I don't understand. I have song that I often use as my "writing song" and that is the Finish version of "Woman in love". It is a beautiful song and I don't understand the words, so I avoid getting distracted.
