Are Your Kids Bored?

I think it's time for the kids to go back to school. My daughter has been home for three days from Christmas vacation and she's already bored. How can she be bored when Santa Claus just delivered new toys to her a few days ago? I don't get it. My son on the other hand has been playing non stop with his new toys just about all day. Are your kids bored yet?

My boys are in high school, so they both have been having practice everyday. Today one was in a basketball tournament and the other in a wrestling tournament. My daughter on the other hand is driving me crazy! She loves what she got, but wants me to play with her. I am not working this week and was looking forward to doing nothing! I can't sit for a minute without her asking me to play something with her. Time to go back to school.

Bored is a very bad word at my house, if you are bored or even look bored there is always another chore to do. Kids learn this very early and there is just no problem. Except that I am one mean Mom and Grandma. I was raised in all girls schools run by nuns, bored meant time for more prayer, It cured me.

I tell my daughter all the time that I can find a chore for her to do if she's bored.

Yes my kids are already bored. It seems like they only played with their new toys for about a day before they lost interest. Why does this happen? I don't ever remember doing that when I was a child. I was happy with every thing I ever recieved. Maybe it is the generation. Or maybe I am just buying my children the wrong toys. I am looking forward to them going back to school. They are too. My son has already asked me when he gets to go back to school. Which I suppose is a good thing that he likes being at school.

That's good that your son wants to go back to school already.

My son is bored. He goes back on Monday the 5th, so he only has a few more days to go stir crazy before it is time for him to go back to school. Then he will be complaining about school instead of complaining about being bored.

I don't know what's worse. Complaining about being bored or complaining about school.

I would have to say that my kids are not bored yet. They have all sorts of game systems to play along with all of their new toys to play with. They can keep themselves pretty busy all day. It will only be the last day or two off that they will start to get ansy to get back to school.

3 days thats it! I wish our christmas break was that short! My kids have been out for two weeks. They don't go back until the 6th of Jan. Oh yes they are bored and driving me nuts!! They got tons of toys from santa and they don't play with any of them. Instead they think they have to fight, run around the house, and be extremely LOUD!

Welcome back to school - for kids, I think that they have to go back to school after the vacation and the kids might be bored staying home for long as they might miss their classmates in the school...
Hello Shar. We don't have a holiday during the Christmas as it is not our traditional festival in China. We work as usual, but we do celebrate it on Christmas Eve in the classroom by watching TV, singing, dancing and performing some other funny activities. Our students are very interested in the western festival. Yeah, for kids, I think that they have to go back to school after the vacation and the kids might be bored staying home for long as they might miss their classmates in the school...Happy New Year to you, friend.

My kids are bored the minute they get in from school, and stay bored until they leave the house. It seems being home and not having anything to do is very boring to them. There's 5 of them, so they spend all their time fighting over toys and not getting along at all. You'd think with all the toys Santa brought them they'd each be playing with something different and behaving and leaving each other alone, but no, they all want the same toy and they all have to fight over it. Even the older ones who should know better are fighting with the littler ones. I honestly believe they can't be happy unless they're fighting with each other. Monday can't come soon enough!

My son is five and won't be attending kindergarten until next year. But he seems quite entertained right now with his old toys and new toys. He has enjoyed what he got for Christmas but I think I know what you mean about boredom. To tell you the truth, you would think that my son would get bored when the television is off but he seems to occupy himself quite well. When I was a kid I used to get a little bored myself soon after Christmas.

Hello Shar19 I don't think my kids have once said that they are bored as they have got so much to play with and also we took a holiday for the new year in my hometown and we were out quite a lot. The kids go back on Tuesday here so I have got one more lie in before I have to start getting up early again!!
