Do you think you can pass any licensure exams... |

| | I can't pass I think in just relying on my present academic knowledge. I have been good in my high school years but I didn't do good in college. My IQ had gone down in my college and this was due to the depression that hit me. I can't really pass without any educational background but if I am genius I'm sure I can pass Law or CPA even without the required prerequisite degree. | | | | | | |

| | i think i would be able to pass any exams if i wanted to. i just did not choose to study any course that will require board exams because i think that will just be a waste of time when i can already find myself a work. | | | | | | |

| | No, I don't think that I can pass any licensure exams without taking any formal education on the subject. Even if we say one is very knowledgeable on the said topic, one needs to research and study really to grasp details. BAR exams are really hard and I know that because my dad is a lawyer and he spent months to study for the BAR exams and he also knows people who have taken the exams a couple of times and the still could not pass it. In exams, you are not only presented with situations and asks you how to deal with it but their are also terms that you have to familiarize yourself with. | | | | | | |

| | Totally agree JM. If I had not studied nursing I would NEVER have passed that exam. You have to know for example: why A is the right or better choice and why B,C or D are they wrong answers. That's how I had to study. I was a nervous wreck. The computer will give one examiner so many questions and the end test and the next person may be on 20 minutes longer. I got very nervous when it ended the exam. Yes, I passed. But, it wasn't a piece of cake. | | | |

| | I don't think you can pass any licensure exam without taking formal education classes on the subject matter. The only exception would be if you have extensive hands-on experience in the field--then you could probably pass an exam. First of all, the review booklets or courses for examinations are just that--for review. They assume you are already familiar with the subject matter. It would not be possible to learn everything you'd need to know for an examination from just a review booklet or course. Secondly, licensure examinations are becoming much more complicated these days. These exams are not simply comprised of things such as vocabulary. Instead, the questions are conceptual--you have to demonstrate that you can apply theory in any given situation. In order to do that, you have to be thoroughly knowledgeable in the subject matter. In my opinion, it would be very hard to do that without taking formal education or having hands-on experience in the field. | | | | | | |

| | I doubt it very seriously. Without knowledge of the subject you are testing on how could you possibly answer the questions? What prompted you to ask this? | | | | | | |

| | I'm just imagining things like what if luck is on our side, considering there some licensure exams that only has multiple choice type of exam. We could be lawyers, nurse, etc by now. Lol! | | | |

| | In the work I do I provide service for many different clients and each one has their own requirements of how they want the service provided. To qualify for work with these clients there is usually a test to see if you understand the parameters of the assignment. These tests are always multiple choice and true/false. If I take the test without reading, and sometimes studying the instructions and guidelines the client publishes I will miss at least half of the answers. In any profession a 50% score on a license exam would be a failure and you would not get the license. So I don't think anyone would be able to pass these tests without studying for the profession. Is this the answer you were looking for? | | | |

| | It was a nice idea, though. In fact there was a TV show called "The Pretender" about a man who was so smart he could be anything he wanted to be. At times he would be a fireman or a doctor or a lawyer. And the list went on and on. He had an extremely high IQ but if I remember the show correctly he had been abducted as a child and raised in this scientific institute where he had been exposed to all the knowledge of every profession there was. So in fact he was really calling upon skills he had learned as a child. | | | |

| | Wow! If only we're like "The Pretender". Have you watched "Catch me if you can"? I think Leo d Caprio passed the bar just by reviewing alone without taking law courses. The movie was based on true events. | | | |

| | No I can't but I do know a friend of mine that could pass the CPA one. When it comes to numbers we all just sit and watch him. He is fast and add minus and all that without paper and it is cool. I take him to the store with me so I don't over spend. You have a great day | | | | | | |

| | I don't think I can. Come to think of it, if many of those who studied a particular for four years or more and get a board or Bar exam don't pass the licensure exam, how much more me? | | | | | | |
