Have your older children been helpful?

My daughter is taking the big sister role on like a champ. She will even get out of bed in an effort to be helpful. "Do you need any big Sister help" seems to be her motto these days. So do your older children jump in to help? Or is there more sibling rivalry than assistance?

I have been very helpful of my mom since she has adopted my little sister from birth..
and sometimes have her 3 or more days a week depending on the time..couldn't this weekend though cause I was sick and I didn't want to spread it around to her adn she was so sad she didn't get to stay the weekend. I acutally missed her.
Well there is always next weekend hopefully i will be better then..But when I was younger my mom always said I helped her take care of my younger brother and sometimes the older ones as well since she said I acted mature for my young age.
I think it is great that the kids like to help parents it also helps children bond with the younger children and show that they aren't a threat of taking all mom and dads attention..it is good to praise them and reward them for their help.

That is a very good thing to hear coming from the Big Sister. It speaks of an eagerness to help and a certain degree of pride in her role as Big Sister. Definite cute hug the kid moment, I think.

My daughter used to not help me do anything at all. she is growing up now and is driving and has a boyfriend she likes to visit. She runs errands for me now and she gets to go places in her car for helping me.

Hello ersmommy. It is so nice of your daughter to be so helpful to take the big sister role on like a champ. I am sure that she is right now getting the sense of some responsibilities for the family, especially for the little brother. Good for her. Take care, friend.
