hello everybody here at Mylot.
this morning i was sitting at the computer listening to some music and all of a sudden i felt the need to stretch backwards in my office chair, that rolls and the back of it moves as well. well when i went to stretch, all of a sudden, the next thing that i knew, i was on the kitchen floor. lmao i leaned too far backwards and the chair fell over with me. lol i am just glad that i wasn't hurt in falling. my left leg is sore thou, and is swelled up some, tomorrow i will probably have a big bruise there. at least it isn't summer time where i have to wear shorts for everybody to see an ugly bruise on my leg. right? lol
so tell me, have you ever fallen out of your office chair before?
thanks for sharing and have a beautiful afternoon.

LOL Sorry but I am laughing with you not at you. Yes this has happened to me before and to many people that have visited my house. I am a big time stop and pick stuff up off the side of the road person. That being said. I stopped one day and picked up a great looking computer chir that rolled, swiveled, and raised in height. What a great find I thought. About 3 days later I found out why they threw it out. It had a wheel missing and if you leaned a certain way it would flip over. It was funny to put folks in it and watch what happens. I know it is mean but it is funny when it happens. We had the chair for like a year. I am glad that you are not drastically hurt and I hope your bruise goes away. Sometimes when you fall and hurt yourself you do not know you are hurt bad until a couple of days later. Just watch it. And try not to fall again.

When I was at high school, each of us students had a small desk and a chair. We used it in the classroom and when we had other activities, we had to carry it along until we finish the school. Once I took my chair out of the classroom and sat in front of the classroom reading. Then I thought it good idea to lie on the chairback and strech a little. To my dissapointment, my chair fell backwards. And what was worse, the back of the chair broke. Imagine my embarrassment when I carried my broken chair into the classroom and later to other activities.

That must have hurt, but I'm glad it wasn't anything serious except for a bruise. I've not had the misfortune of falling off the chair I am sitting on. Many years ago though when I was working, I was conducting an in-house seminar for my IT colleagues. I can't remember if it was triggered by anything I said but all of a sudden one of my female colleagues sitting in front suddenly yelled out and before anyone knew it, she fell ungraciously off her office chair like you. I think she fell because she fell asleep! Her fall broke the silence in the room among the attendees, and resulted in a roar of laughter all around. You see, this lady who fell off her chair was quite plumb, and when she landed on the carpet floor, it was awkward and it created a big rumble. Even she herself couldn't help having a good laugh out of the situation.

If that happened to me I would still be lying on the floor laughing. I've not tipped a chair over with me in it, but I have missed a chair I was looking to land in and fell flat on the floor because the chair wasn't under me when I sat down.

Hope you are ok. This is a funny story now but am sure it wasn't earlier when you fell. Glad you weren't really hurt. Could have busted your head. I don't believe I've fallen out of a chair in years. I can lean back in my chair and it will go with me but won't try it all the way to see if it will hold my body weight. Don't need a broken head even though the room is carpeted.

LOL. I am glad that you are okay and that you can laugh about it now. I have done that before also while stretching.

OMG I can't imagine that happening to me. I probably wouldn't have been able to either get up or hurting myself real bad. Glad you're OK. That's a terrible way to get in a stretch. I did have to laugh though, it reminded me of the time I was all hot and bothered over someone that turned out to be a putz, but nevertheless we went on a little trip together to the US and we got booked into a room. Of course there was a big queen bed and on the other side of the wall was the second bed. It was OK but it was a double bed that was on wheels. Well after we got our stuff inside, I said time for a smoke, as I smoked back then. He said yes and I got a drink for us too. I jumped up on the bed and lite my smoke, he went to the desk to mix a drink. I leaned my back up against the wall and I pushed my back up against the wall because I was watching Mr. handsome mixing us a drink from the mirror that hung on the wall. Next thing I knew the bed went flying forward and I hit the floor. Well when he heard the crash he came running and there I was all crumbled up on the floor between the wall and the bed. He looked down at me and said, what the hell are you doing down there. Good laugh and good memories. Too Funny.

Oh No I didn't hurt anything except my pride, I was only about 28 at the time and that was when my bones were in much better shape.

TnWoman,
I hope you will apply some ice packs over that swelling of yours there and that you aren't limping.
The only chair incident I had so far was falling off when my cousin played a practical joke on me, by pulling the stool (rather) away as I was about to sit down. Got a sore back and an awkward limp for a week.
Cheers and have a nice day.

Glad that you are o.k.
Never had a fall, but has near misses many times. I guess my reflexes are still fast & every time i managed to avoid fall even though the chairs have not been so lucky.
My absent mindedness makes me do these involuntary stunts again & again. May be i will join your bruised club soon!

lol one of the priceless moments in life, i personally have never done that one before but i was however playing basketball one time in the gym and i was wearing track pants, they were a little long on me and they manages to slip down the back of my sneaker and go underneath of my shoe, as i went to jump for a layup the pants slid across the floor and i wound up flat on my back with a bump on the back of my head, lesson learned for sure, now i wear shorts whenever i play ball lol

Hi TnWoman! haha...I am sorry but that was kinda funny! I am just glad to know that you are not really hurt except for that sore leg. I oftentimes fall out of chair whenever I do some stretching or sometimes, when I am bored or tired from working, I sometimes do a balancing act while seated on the chair. I usually lean backwards as far as I can with only the two legs of the chair on the floor..I will be successful balancing it for a few seconds, then down I will fall. haha..
Have a wonderful day!

too many times! I am clumsy anyway so you'd think I'd take more caution but I don't . Also my chair ...the skrews loosen up because we all tend to dance around in it as we sit in it and sometimes it just falls apart. Oddly, I've fallen sound asleep in this same chair waiting for something to upload or download. Now wouldn't you think I'd fall then? Nope....it is quite comfy and I've not once fallen while dozing.

I haven't but that is mainly because I am wise enough to know better than to lean that far back and also old enough to know that it will hurt if I do.. I have, although, almost feel out of my chair when I have fallen asleep at the computer.. I get comfortable and sleepy, then I lay my head on the desk for, "just a second or two".. That is a good way to fall out of your chair, especially if you are thinking your are in your own bed and try to turn over to get comfortable.. That is a wake up call..
