Can two people have the same IP address? |
|
I am asking this question because I do several of the paid to click and paid to read sites. One site I keep getting error messages that say "someone from this IP address already clicked on this add." and then the site Workfromhome HQ I got a message that my account is under review because of having two accounts from this IP address. Now the IP address they have down for me is not the IP address that is listed on my computer. Does anyone know what is going on? Does anyone know how I can fix this problem I will tell you I only have one account for these sites and do not want to be kicked off for something that is not by fault. I will tell you my computer is new I got it for Christmas so I have only been using it since then. Any ideas? Any help? Thanks

But, each time you get online, your ISP may assign you to a network address. I don't think any two computers would ever have the same address.
Have you explained to the companies that you only have one computer with one ISP address?

I know public computer use can lead to this, but you said it is your own, so, I am not sure. Does anyone else use it?

teapotmommommerced (5724) | 11 months ago | It might be it. I have seen duplicates but thought it is just what some PTC sites do.

TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>DELETE BROWSE HISTORY BUTTON

| 35. sawatzky (56) | 11 months ago | Absolutely... but not at the same time. If your IP address lease is dynamic, someone may have had your IP address yesterday, or last week. Normally cable modem compnies give you the same IP address for long periods of time, even if you shut down... but they don't have to. If a new customer hooks up while your modem is shut down (maybe because you have the whole shebang on one power bar and shut everything down at the same time), they might get the IP address you were using. If you want to be sure your IP address never changes, you would normally pay a fee for a static IP address.

36. rusty2rusty (4186) | 11 months ago | No, It is not possib;e to have to IP adresses. But it is possib;e for the site to have one of your old IP addresses listed on their site. Such as if you can a new computer or move. I know I moved my IP address changed. Even staying with the same internet provider.

teapotmommommerced (5724) | 11 months ago | I did get a new computer and that was when I started having problems.

|
rusty2rusty (4186) | 11 months ago | I would explain to the site that you got a new computer and your internet provider issued you a new IP address. So, the old one is no longer valid. Explain that you did not knwo you had to report a change of Ip addresses and ask them how to go about doing so in order to get your account straighten out.

teapotmommommerced (5724) | 11 months ago | thanks for your advise Rusty but this site does not have a link to contact them unless I just am that blind. I looked and looked and looked. I will tell you it has not happened again and I have been getting paid so far. Thank for your adivse

37. reinydawn (4230) | 11 months ago | My WorkfromhomeHQ was saying the same thing last week. I was going to ask my son if he was working on the site - he uses my computer - but I haven't really had a chance to talk to him. I was actually wondering if they were having problems on their end - my last payout took 2 days when they used to take 2 hours...
As for the same IP address, anyone who uses your computer will have the same IP address, and sometimes if someone is sharing your connection you will have the same IP address - even though it should add a different number to the last series of digits for each computer using the connection.

teapotmommommerced (5724) | 11 months ago | reiny I actually WorkfromhomeHQ was having some problems with that. What make me concerned was a couple of other sites where giving me an error site that I had clicked on them or someone with the same IP address had clicked on them. It make me ask the question.

reinydawn (4230) | 11 months ago | I haven't seen that message since I've been home - was away for the weekend. It's strange that the other sites were saying the same thing... Unless someone else was using your computer...

39. tigerdragon (2986) | 11 months ago | oh yes, it is possible that you were cloned by some proxy servers used by other people at random. there are softwares and websites that does this and let other people use it to cloake their true IP address. well, you were hit but it is kinda rare, it's one in a million. i guess you better go look for another site to make money from or go with the bandwagon and get yourself a proxy server software so you can go in as a new memeber.

40. vonvonex (224) | 10 months ago | Hey teapotmommommerced I can help you with your problem. It worked for me. Let me explain this to you. What you have is dynamic IP address. Dynamic IP address is not like static because static is a fixed IP address so it means, your IP address will not change. Going back to the dynamic IP address... Dynamic IP address is not a fixed IP address so it means it changes when you turn on and off your IP modem or router. Now, since it changes every time you turn on and off the modem, if you turn off your modem and turn it back on, you will have a new IP address. Now what I did with my problem is this. I turned of my modem and turned it back on again. I logged in to my PTC site and WALA!!! I was able to view the ads now... Simple!!! YOu just have to search the internet for your problem. Hope I was able to help you...
