Do you prefer Wireless keyboard/mouse or corded ones?  email this discussion to a friend?

I personally like wireless things better, because it's more convenient at most times and technology improves at such a quick rate that most people are no longer bothered by that fact. One thing I don't like is to have to insert batteries all the time, that's why my family always leaves rechargeable batteries near the computer in case we need to switch out dead ones for charged ones. Which do you prefer, and why? Happy myLotting!

Yeah, I realize that wireless stuff definitely costs more money than corded ones. The wires just annoy me, that's all. Thanks for your response!

It depends on what kind of computer am I using. If it's a desktop PC which will not move around that much, I don't mind using everything wired since it's not supposed to be that mobile or portable. Having the wires here and there will also not bother me that much and will not be messy since they are fixed at that place. However, if it's a laptop which I'm currently using, I do prefer wireless or cordless because the wires do irritate me at time and become very messy. But I must agree with you that the batteries are a nuisance.

As for keyboard, I don't think there's really a need to use wireless keyboard unless I'm projecting the laptop to a very large LCD screen which I need to sit a far distance away.

Yes, that's true. Wires do annoy the heck out of me, but the batteries do as well. There's pros and cons to both, I guess. And the only reason why I like wireless keyboards is that I don't have to sit hunched really near the computer, I can just move the keyboard around wherever I feel like. Thanks for your response!

I'd say the ones with cord.

I'm fed up with wireless keyboard and mouse. Haha! It's too, I don't know. I hate it when I run out of batteries when I type or when the mouse runs out of batteries. For me, the only convenience I get is when I can move away from the monitor with the keyboard. But anyway, it's actually a waste of money and energy..

Just a personal opinion. happy

I know! It's so annoying when the batteries run out right when you're trying to do something important, and you have to get up and get new ones. That totally stinks. Thanks for your response!

I use a large desktop that it's not going anywhere from its desk so I am happy with my corded keyboard and mouse. In any case I do not want a cordless mouse. I am sure I would loose it among the usual mess of my table.

Aww, that really sucks. My dad never lets us keep anything messy, so it's almost impossible to lose anything, except for paper and documents, since they all look alike. Thanks for your response!

Yes, sometimes it's a bit useful, but you can't really get too far from the sensor anyways. Thanks for your response!

I only use a wireless mouse since I find it very convenient for me. I am a left handed person and so it is easier for me like this. Then when other family members or friends would use my laptop they find it easy to use too. I don't have any problem with battries as I use rechargeable battaries. However, when I use public computers I always find a problem because everything is corded and the mouse would be on the right side. Usually I end up fighting with wires, mice, and mice pads to position them on the left side. It's not that I don't know how to use them with the right hand but it's still very uncomfortable. Try it and you'll see what I mean!

myLot reputation of 86/100. reichiru (406)   ranked 664 out of 6,368 in computer  4 years ago

Yeah, I have tried to use the mouse with my left hand (I'm right-handed) and found it really difficult, so I understand what you mean. I usually do that when I'm trying to search for something and write something down at the same time. Thanks for your response!

With wire or wireless has its own advantage and disadvantage. Having keyboard and mouse with wire has an advantage that it wont get lost due to it was always attached to the CPU but when assembling personal computer accessories, it's kind of a hassle to unplug and plug it again. In your case, having wireless keyboard and mouse is really in to the technologies now a days but as what you've said, it's quite a hassle to change batteries when the battery life is gone and to buy a new rechargeable battery when the battery life of your old batteries are too short.

I prefer with wire still. But maybe when the years to come that having wireless keyboard and mouse wouldn't need batteries anymore and it gets it's life to the computer still, I may purchase that product.happy

Yes I totally agree with you. They both have their pros and cons. Of course, at the rate that technology's advancing, we probably won't have to wait too long before they find some efficient middle ground for the two so that everyone would agree on it. Thanks for your response!

I don't really have a preference. The only reason we have a mouse and keyboard with cord at home is because it's cheaper and I don't see any great advantage of wireless things if they're right in front of you. Like you said, batteries can be a major inconvenience when dealing with them and I think it's just easier to plug a cord in and not worry about it. ninja

For my PlayStation 2 (yep, I'm old-fashioned =P xD) though, I like using a wireless controller because I sit on the couch while playing and someone always trips when they're walking in the area between it and the television. Then, I find cords more of a nuisance then a convenience, but I would go with them if we're talking about computers as cords don't bother me much then.

myLot reputation of 86/100. reichiru (406)   ranked 664 out of 6,368 in computer  4 years ago

Yeah, most of the time they're just sitting on the the desk or behind it anyways, so it normally doesn't really matter whether or not you have a wireless one or corded one. It's just that we bought a computer recently (well, around a year ago), and they gave us a wireless keyboard and mouse, so we've just stuck with that. I get what you mean by the video game controllers though, I always trip over them when I go to my friend's house to play (I have a Wii at home, so I don't have to worry about that). Thanks for your response!

I prefer wireless. I personally have a wireless logitech mouse and keyboard. Nothing beats the comfort of lying in the bed and watching movies, mylotting, gaming or just any other thing you could do with your pc. :)

Yeah, WiFi definitely would promote more hackers, until they make everything more secure at least. Thanks for your response!
