How long does your spring cleaning last?

When do you start your spring cleaning and how long does it take you to finish? What all do you include in your spring cleaning? Or do you not do any special cleaning for spring at all? Does anyone do spring cleaning anymore?

It lasts until I get it done. I have kept my home up since I have had so much company this last year. I will not have a lot of spring cleaning to do when spring gets here.

Hi eaforeman6! Here in our country, we actually do not call it spring cleaning since we don't have the spring season. lol..We do get to call it general cleaning and most of us usually do this at least every two months or if there will be parties or celebrations in the house. But we do regular cleaning every day since it is really dusty here. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

I dust very often. Its probaly better to clean all the time anyway. You dont have a pile up and get too far behind....I just have a scrubbing good time, turn the music on and it goes by fast lol and turn on those scrubbing bubbles lol

Currently I only have to Spring Clean my bedroom so I count myself as fortunate so it's always done as and when, no specific time, done regularly because my room is a dust collector, whether it's to do with the central heating, but it needs a thorough clean often. In my old home I used to dread spring cleaning because it was a military affair with my ex involved and we used to get on each others nerves both or our tempers were short fused and we'd always end up rowing or throwing stuff at each other, not a pretty sight, so whenever I hear the words spring clean I shiver as I remember with horror at the spring cleaning with my ex grrrrr

I am sorry that you have that memory and that experience. You would laugh when I clean, because I sing songs that I dont even know all of the words too, and hum and whistle. I am a happy cleaner....but with my singing lol you might want to toss something at me lol hhehehehehhehehehhh, we would clean with joy in our hearts and have a wonderful time.....

With just myself and my husband living in our house it doesn't take long to clean the house every day so I don't do any special cleaning for Spring. I clean and dust every day and on Saturdays, my husband vacuums all the floors while I polish the furniture so the house is always clean and tidy. This can be quite boring, so occasionally, I move the furniture around just for a bit of variation.

I believe in moving that furniture around. My goodness, I had alot of dust under the bed....have to watch all those underneath and behind places, they do hold alot of dust. If you dont d that, I dont feel that I have really cleaned.

A couple weeks. Normally I do a full work down of the whole house. Furniture goes outside, boxes lugged around, I get out the mop, broom, rags...cleaning agents...and I get to work. The rugs get aired out, the walls scrubbed, the floors mopped, the furniture cleaned and rearranged, the kitchen and pantry straightened out, the stove cleaned thoroughly...and I don't stop until everything looks exactly in a way that makes me satisified about the whole endeavor. The reason it takes so long, is that other people live here with me. xD AND there's other stuff to do in the spring, since we just moved here, and it's got a little over an acre...we're starting up our farm in about a month. Already we've got some plants started inside.

Hi eaforeman! I do spring clean. It usually takes me one full day to get everything I want to get done finished. I love the way the house is after a good spring cleaning and then opening the windows. I think that after a long cold winter a house needs a good opening up. I clean everything from the blinds to underneath my couch. My closets..which can be a task with the girls.lol..But they have to help too.

My Grandmother scrubs down her entire home in the spring. She does the walls and everything in the house. Not me. I clean it all year long so I dont have to do it for days in the spring

It usually lasts four days-Thurday-Sunday. I love spring cleaning. My city has a spring cleaning thing were we can dump old stuff in front of our home and they come pick it up at no cost to us. I love it. I love spring cleaning. I can open the windows and let fresh(wink wink) air in and get old man winter out of my home.

I couldnt agree with you more. I enjoy opening all the windows and letting the old stale air out too. I think thats the first most important step in the process. Appreciate the response and happy mylotting!

I do bits of cleaning all year long and by Spring, about the only thing I have left to do is washing the curtains.. We have been painting this Winter and when we get the room completely painted, I finish with a good dusting and cleaning the floors, so I end up with my Spring cleaning done and over with..

I'm not a very tidy person. This is my first year living in an apartment on my own and I think I am going to have to do a spring cleaning this year. At the moment my house looks like a disaster area and needs a good scrubbing (or burning down, lol. I imagine it will take me a couple of days to get every nice and clean. It is quite disappointing also because my landlord did not do a very good job of cleaning before I moved in, so I have some residual cleaning up from back then to do also. I hope I can get it all done because I also have a tendency to stop in the middle of cleaning so only half of everything is done. Wish me luck! Lol.

If you can do it in a couple of days, thats not bad at all. I want to shampoo my furntiure and some things that I know will take longer to do. I wish you all the best with your cleaning....and appreciate the response!

Whats spring cleaning? LOL, those words just dont fit together for me. My sis however, is a fanatic. Every single nook and cranny of her home is scrubbed with a vengeance! I tend to avoid her for that week for the fear of being handed a sponge.

You sister must enjoy cleaning. I like to clean house too. I would also be one to dodge , so I dont hand you a broom or a mop lol I like to listen to music and clean away.... and when I am finished, its all really clean ...
