When I was a child I had a Guinea pig

i have never had one but have known people that did. all kids need a pet.

I had a guinea pig too when i was younger her name was Shazbat (think the old TV show Mork and Mindy LOL) guinea pigs are good as pets but they are still a big responsibility I think it all depends on the child

I think guinea pigs can be great pets for the right people for sure. As long as parents don't actually expect the kids to do all the work, because realistically most kids won't. If guinea pigs do fit into the family, people should definitely consider adoption. There are several guinea pigs in shelters and rescues that can be found easily using sites such as Petfinder. However, that is great yours lived until 7! I've had a few that made it there and past that, but it's fairly rare, so good job... you must have done something right. :)

I also had a guinea pig when I was a child. I remember the day when I got her, I was so happy. I enjoyed playing with her and taking care of her. I haven't had any guinea pigs as an adult because I wasn't allowed to a keep pets in the apartments where I used to live. Now I live in a place where pets are allowed and I have 6 rabbits. I also plan on buying a couple of guinea pigs, but I want to wait a few weeks, because my fiance and I are going to our honeymoon soon and then we wouldn't be able to take care of the guinea pigs.

oh , really ? last year I was thinking of buying a pet pig. But I fear that it will grow very big,too big to be a pet, so I quit the thought. still when I go to a shop, I take the elevator to the top floor, where I can visit pets , pet piggy, kitten, puppis.

I love guinea pigs, and have had a lot of them. Mine all lived to about 6 or 7. I've always made sure they can get out and run around in garden when the weathers good. I just love the noises they make too!
