Did America really put a man on the moon?

I kind of have my doubts too, but Russia says that they were there before us so why couldnt we make it. I don't know I just don't believe alot of what the government has to say.

I think so. Really, it is a hard thing to imagine, but not impossible, and I think if it was fake we would have proved it by now.

Seemed pretty real to me when I watched it live on TV all those years ago...There is only one reason for faking it - to get the credit for doing it before the Russians did. There are two things wrong with that theory. In order to establish a "we did it first" claim, it's only necessary to do it once, not several times. Secondly, the Russians never intended to put a man on the moon anyway, they were more interested in unmanned (and cheaper) missions. They had the credit for the first crash landing, the first circumlunar (and the first photographs of the far side) and the first soft landing with a robot lander which returned samples of lunar rock to Earth.
