Do you mind someone judge the best responses very late?

I don't mind it at all. It is up to them to judge the best responses anytime. But it is a little bit strange to decide the best response within a day, in my opinion. I think it's not very fair as some people may give a better response later due to the different time zones.

Hi youless yes you are right ,its best to wait ofr two or three days atleast, after starting a discussions before selecting the BR.I dont mind at all if some people give BRs after a long time, and if I happen to be the recepient of the BR after many months of responding,I do not mind a bit at all.....and never fail to thank the person.Actually I am also very slow in giving BRs ,and tend to forget about checking my discussion for the best response, until I read discussions like these which remind me to look into my old discussions.....So thank you youless, and let me get busy.......

I agree with you Rose and today this discussion of Youless has motivated me to go through at least a few of my unresolved discussions.

Sometimes when there are quite a lot of responses, it's hard to find your own one and leave the thanks note

Oh no youless ,searching for my response when I get a BR is not at all a big problem for me......Well actually this is because there wont be many responses to the discussion when ever I get a BR......

way to go youless, you are on your 10,000th plus plus post already. very inspiring indeed. go go go friend!!! well it is shocking sometimes to find people who has decided to choose a best response in only a few minutes or few hours. there are thousand and thousand members of mylot. atleast give chance to others to say their views. but what can we say youless.... that is their style.

One week, one month, four months, even after a year I have had a notification to say I've got best response, I am grateful to receive them, that someone obviously thinks my response is worthy of the award, but you are right after a few hours and less than a day is not really fair and doesn't give people a chance does it?

I don't mind either way. The best response is like love, you know it when you see it. I have many posts that I knew the best response the first day but I didn't deem the best response until two or three days later. I wanted to give others a chance to post. And then ther are many of my oposts that will never have a best response. It is the type of discussion that has a best response.

I think it's just too soon to judge the best response within a day.

I very rarely ask questions in my discussions but have seen others who do and I have responded. 'How do you do this ors that?' requires a correct answer and I have received a best response from a user on answering the query in the only way possible within five minutes of the discussion being posted. However if it is a topic where many answers and opinions are possible then a BR may never ever be awarded. There is no time limit. I have some very old discussions where I have not awarded it yet. Some of the responses are completely off-topic and others are just not worthy. Every now and then an old discussion comes to life and maybe eventually the response worthy of it will arrive. Usually though I award the BR when I have the response that suits me, gives me what I was looking for and probably not even expecting. I think it is a very individual thing and with no time limit so every user does it in their own time, be it early or late. Happy Lotting!

I try to. I know it is a lovely feeling when I receive one and I like others to have the same experience too. Unless I am happy to give one though I prefer to wait. Hava a great day!

I too think that it is better to give a good time lapse before marking the best response.Sometimes, I mark it late even if there are not very many , because I have to at soem point of time or the other.

I don't really mind because I take a long time to mark as well, sometimes I am just totally busy or sometimes it's hard to decide on the best response, so I need time to think! *smiles* But I will eventually.

Like you, I really don't mind if other mylotters prefer to choose the best responses rather late. It's their own choice. In fact, I know and I'm fully aware that I'm guilty of this act, too. Personally, I wait to receive at least 8 responses to discussions I've created before choosing the best response. This way, I have more replies to choose from and consider, more varied comments and suggestions. I even have a number of discussions which I have created more than a year ago and are still unresolved until now; simply because the responses for these discussions are still below my personal target of 8. I guess my threads aren't as interesting as others' discussions; that's why they receive less replies or even go unanswered, at times. But I'm not giving up hope, although I don't encourage myself to create more; instead I focus on responding to hundreds of discussions over here. I find it more weird that others will immediately choose the best response after receiving only 1 response or within the day the discussion was created. I have never done this, personally.

Hi youless my friend. Well, I really don't mind. Actually I don't prefer giving best response in every topic I make. Funny but I just mark it response when I want to. The reason for this is I don't want to make it a habit. Some are giving best response on the spot or on that day the discussion was made, but then there are some member who are going to comment in the future, why give them some chance, right? I'm not really focus on best response but I am focus on every response that I had in every discussion I posted. As soon as I can I want to replied them back. Best luck and keep up the good work my friend...

Hey there youless. I do agree that in general 1 day best responses are a bit unfair and think that there is no problem for people to take longer to choose a best response especially if the topic is popular, or if it has just 1 or 2 responses. people tend to choose from a few days to 1 week or 2 or 1 month for choosing a best response. I received a best response for a discussion started 3 months ago for example.

I don't really mind. That's the poster's option, assuming that he or she is waiting really for the best response to come. I think it is wiser to leave the BR unawarded until at after few days, to accomodate more responses and give other the chance to be awarded the BR.

Not at all. Some of the discussions still get responses a month/months later. It would be premature to give BRs within a day or two.

i don't really, what i do mind is giving the best response very soon...i see some who give best responses like they really don't choose which one is the best of the best---there are so many times that if you wait you'll see that a new responder deserves the best one..so its better to wait till you can choose which is which

I dont mind as well, as it is I got behind on some of mine, I try to wait until the discussions are at least 6-7 days old before I choose since I give it time to see if anyone else posts in there after the first day or two. I actually got caught up this evening when I signed in....LOL I have been focusing on some new sites that I started to see if they will be worth it and I had neglected my best responses...LOL so now I am good again!! have a great night and happy mylotting.
