I was reading that if you add a lot of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty foods to your diet it will help you live a long life. This would mean eating lots of Salmon and Tuna as well as other fatty fish. Do you eat a lot of fish for the health benefits?

The Omega 3s and 0mega 6 are good for a healthy heart, reducing the risk of certain cancers, neurological disorders, improved bone health among older adults; healthy pregnancy outcomes as well as good visual acuity and cognitive development among infants. But I don't care too much for fish so I get mine from nuts and flax seed. I also get my omega 6 from eggs and poultry. It is also found in Corn, safflower, soybean, cottonseed, and sunflower oils. so we probably get more then we thought we did with these foods.

I'm just NOT that big a fish fan, and I've had problems with mercury in fish in the past - so I have to be careful

I regularly eat oily fish (mackeral) 3 times a week. It is supposed to be the best source or omega 3. But what I have found is that if I eat too much of this fish, I just don't feel too good. So it is not suitable for everyone. I believe we each have to find what is best for our own body. Some people have food allergies that could make them very ill or even kill them, whilst to another person that same food would give them excellent health and vitality. . Derek

I agree with the article you read about Omega 3 and Omega 6, not just fatty fish but it also include an egg which enriched with Omega 3 or DHA. I learned about it during my Chelation and EECP treatment for my heart disease, till now I continue taking Salmon fish oil(Alaska Deep Sea Fish Oil, 1000mg, 100 Softgels). I take high dose of 1000mg because it is equivalent to one softgel per day. Now it is very cheap. I like fish very much and now no more for fried fish, but totally either in steam or cook or bbq. Especially, for fresh water fish and this is the reason why I like fishing. Not only for peace-of-mind but for health.

I do eat a lot of fish and do so specifically for the health benefits as well as for weight control purposes. Fortunately, I've always liked salmon and tuna so I've always eaten a lot of it. I also take an Omega 3 supplement every day. The problem though is that a lot of the supplements and some fish have high levels of mercury so you have to be very careful.

no I don't but they are good to keep down heart attacks so I just read, but at the same time they have their downfall with cholesterol and with calories, I don't really like fish all the much that is why I don't eat it.
