I never do that Bala. I receive the phone and tell them that I am indisposed and will talk later or that I am not interested at all, in case of tele marketeers. Having said this, I do remember having asked my mom to tell the caller that I am sleeping which invariably my mother would decline to do and I had to end up receiving the phone. But if you ask me what kind of phone I hate to receive would be those to which I do not have any answer to. This, I guess, is more annoying that the tele callers. I hate it when people would go on nagging and even when there are lot of ways out, they would not listen. They are happy with the complaining stuff and want you to listen and agree to whatever they have to say. They are escapist and have their own ways of making life miserable. That was quite a rant!

Hi balasri Certain phone calls are really irritating and of gossiping type which i does not like to involve. Certain phone calls are nagging and boring and of no meaning in continuing such calls. Some other phone calls are irritating and bragging type. Some people call us when they are feeling bored and want to talk to someone to kill the time and some are of marketing calls. All such calls makes me ask someone at home to tell the caller that I am not at home

I always welcome a person who hates gossiping calls. It is the worst form of wasting our time without any gain to our knowledge or purse. There are thousands of constructive conversations one can make in a day. Thanks for the response.

All of them LOL! Seriously I am not a person who likes to speak on the phone, all my friends know this and respect this so will either wait until they see me to speak to me in person, email me or text me! So 99% of the time when the phone does go it's not for me, and if it is it's never anyone important, only salesmen plying their business and I don't want to waste precious time speaking to them. So I don't really have that problem fortunately, I find the phone ringing in my home intrusive, but that's just me!

Even though I know I should handle it, there are times when I have someone tell the credit card people I'm not here. There are times when I can't, or don't want to talk to them. Right now I'm dealing with all my stuff since I seem to now have the money.

Anybody who calls me and doesn't use the name I use in casual company, ESPECIALLY if they cannot pronounce it right (and I have a common name so this is ridiculous)..... anybody who does not realize that I am the mom and wife and instead assumes anything other than that about me, telemarketers, people who call from an 800 or 866 number and claim to be related to my mortgage or ins and they aren't - or a personal call from someone I don't want to talk to at the moment because I am busy and if I get on the phone with them they will never shut up.

Only telemarketeers and those trying to sell me credit cards and loans. There are just too many which come sometimes and when i am not well then cannot attend the call myself and then instead of telling them that, ask whoever picks up the call to tell them that i am not at home.

I never do the same. May be I am not an important to person to get irritated by calls and I am getting very limited calls. But if somebody calls in morning I may ask my hubby to ‘tell them that I will talk them later. Usually morning time so hectic and I don’t want to waste my time with phone calls. If I attend the call I can’t tell them that I am busy now especially at home, if I am in office I may say like that, so I avoid attending the calls. But as soon as I finish my work and set free definitely I call them back. If there is any urgent message they can convey the same to my hubby.

Hi balasri, This is very easy, my brother, oh when he phones me up he goes on about his friends I don't even know and also he is always complaining about something or other, he just bores me and when my husband picks the phone when he rings I just tell hime to say I have gone out. Tamara
