11. lilybug (15306) | 10 months ago | For most things I will just pour the salt out of the container into my hand and then pour it in the pot or pan. The only time I really don't do it that way is when I am baking something and the amount of salt needs to be more accurate.

12. lazeebee (4520) | 10 months ago | Hi Sharay, I prefer using the spoon; at least I would know how much to use each time. If I use my hand or fingers, it's guessing like a pinch or 2 pinches - and I would most probably end up too much or too little salt.

sharay (1360) | 10 months ago | too little salt would not be a problem as we always can add later, too much would just spoil the whole food

14. bubbletush (745) | 10 months ago | i use table salt for cooking and also feel comfortable pinching the salt with my fingers. like you, it seems i could measure it well if i use my hand instead of the spoon. but for iodized salt, i use a spoon because they granulated.

sharay (1360) | 10 months ago | i use iodized salt, but i can still put them through my fingers

16. catdla1 (2643) | 10 months ago | It depends on what I am cooking. For dinner preparation, I measure with my hand and have been doing it for so long that I feel comfortable with it. Many baking recipes are more exacting. If I'm baking a cake, I usually grab the spoon for measuring.

17. thorgrym (307) | 10 months ago | I use my hand. I don't tend to add a lot of salt to a recipe when I am cooking. For that reason, I simply pour a little bit out into my hand and take a pinch or two from that to add to the recipe.

sharay (1360) | 10 months ago | when you dont want exact salting, your hands would be fine for you just need to sprinkle some over the food

20. jziakhan (389) | 10 months ago | I pour in the salt in with a spoon, as I know I won't get my hands cacked with salt if they are wet with not a towel in sight, and I can always shake some off, making it fall back into the container if I have miscalculated the amount Well, Happy-Mylotting..

|
sharay (1360) | 10 months ago | i never touch the salt if my hand is wet, for we will take more salt than needed adn also, the salt will form clots when the water is present in the jar
