I have been cleaning the house for two straight days already and I'm no near to being done yet. Right now, my hips are really aching and I could feel how tired I am. I have already gotten rid of three boxful of things I did not want to throw away two years ago. Finally able to let go. Anyways, I don't want to throw it away before because I might need it but have not really touched it in the last two years. This is amusing though and this always happen. As soon as I have discarded those stuff I kept for so long, then suddenly I'll have the need for it.

In my country we have no winter and summer throughout so spreing cleaning occurs whenever we want. Generally we do it in the month of Nov just before a particular festival called as deepavali or the festival of lights which lasts for about 4 to 5 days. Just before it starts we start cleaning the entire house and throwing out the junk which just keeps on accumulating thruout the year. as you say its quite a drag to do all this and sometimes we let things be as they are and say we`ll do it next time.

Oh yes! I dare say its piled up a lot … I dislike winter so much and feel so lazy and don’t want to move at all (wish I could actually hibernate) so with the onset of spring the house looks like it could do with some good cleaning and washing what will all the winter clothes and blankets piled on one corner…whew! It’s a huge task ahead of me, but I just love putting those winter clothes cleaned and away…it’s a great solace that summer will soon be here.

Luckily for me, we don't spring clean because my fiance and I don't yet have our own place + we keep our room very well organized, and the rest of the house is the same as his mother likes it that way. We clean our own room and the kitchen.

Hi daisy! I've done some stuffs yesterday, but not finish yet and hopefully I'll have the energy today to do more. I think all I have to do now is clean the closet and put away the winter clothes.

I am so bad about throwing things away. Don't know a bigger pack rat than myself. I haven't started any spring cleaning. I keep putting it off and for no reason. Things are done around this house when I am working in a much better fashion. Less time and less time to think about what I should be doing so I get it done when working. I do spend way too much time on the computer and the house suffers as a result. Eventually I will get around to any spring cleaning.

First of all....I need to see/feel some signs of Spring, my dear! Other than the daffodils/crocuses...there is absolutely NO spring in my area! We had record setting snow yesterday! Yes, I have been entertaining it...and most of my spring cleaning is due to wood heat, it is definitely comforting heat...but, oh, so dirty! Yes, the walls, ceilings, curtains, drapes...all need a good clean, but there is no sense (NO, I am not procrastinating..LOL!) until I do NOT need heat! I am just afraid that we will go to sleep at night as winter, and wake-up as summer, with NO spring...and then I will be running like a banshee, trying to get spring cleaning, gardening, planting all done in a fury! Had to remind me....didn't you! LOL! & Cheers!

LOL that was my plan for today. but then my daughter needed me to watch my granddaughter and my son decided this would be one of his cranky days. So now my daughter just picked up the baby and my son is down for a nap but my ambition is gone LOL so here I sit online. Its supposed to hit 60 here today for the first time since last fall so, as much as I should get started cleaning, I'll probably take my son for a walk instead. Oh well, tommorow is another day...

I guess I fall into the same category as you. Usually, Spring for me, is the time when I start buying new stuff, to add to the old stuff I bought last Spring, that I haven't used yet. Cleaning? No. I call it... "COLLECTING"! cdrxo

I know what you mean. I keep telling myself I need to do a really good cleaning, inside and out (our house gets pollen on the siding and looks awful) But I can't seem to ever get myself to get doing it. Maybe I spend too much time online

I have cleaned all the winter coats, and padded clothes, which are just hung outside in the sunshine. It is one of the tiring chores for any family. I will do the wool sweaters maybe one month or so later. As for the room cleaning, we usually have a thorough one prior to the spring festival, just need to keep in order. There are only two of us at home, so little to sort out for the coming seasons. Mother is great to keep the family in good order. Spring cleaning is only one of the many, rarely appreciated, but cannot do without.
