When cooking which do you prefer non stick teflon or cast iron classic pans? |
| |
| I recently purchased an old style classic cast iron pan, and it cooks like a dream, unlike the other non stick teflon pans I purchased in the past, most of the time the teflon wears out after just a few using and then I end up throwing them in the trash because they dont cook well when the teflon is scratched or warn out. but the cast iron pan last much long and for some reason it seems to cook food better then some of those so called non stick ones. But which do you prefer non sick new style or classic cast iron cooking pans? | | Cooking pans | | | | |

| | I prefer the old cast iron pans. They last a lot longer if they are properly taken care of. Unfortunately, they are also a lot more expensive. | | | | | | |

| | Now a days I prefer nonstick when cooking dosa and masala dosa. I use classic pans when cooking vegetables. I am not very good at cooking, but I love to learn cooking and tries to various cooking experiments and tries to make different new food items. | | | | | | |

| | Cast iron by far! I won't have nonstick pans ever again. As soon as the coating begins to wear, it's dangerous to use and they don't last very long. I've had my cast iron skillets for years and they were bought second hand, so I don't know how old they really are. I do have some stainless steel pans that I use all the time and like them, but for frying, it's cast iron. | | | | | | |

| | wow i dont think ive had a cast iron pan in 30 years, they were great when camping and for breakfast's at home just season it in and wipe it out, leave the grease in and rub with a paper towel.i just find the teflon easier to clean. i have been chased around the kitchen with a cast iron pan maybe thats why i dont use them anymore. lol | | | | | | |

| | I do like the cast iron pans better. Because you have to be careful with the teflon pans, if you scratch them the coating can come off. The cast iron are more expensive but do last a lot longer. | | | | | | |
