i don't know anyone named marion, its the name of a town here, but if it were someone's name i would say its a girls name. sounds sorta like "Mary Ann"

Hello bombshell! Actually the gender of the names differ from country to country. For me and mostly for filipinos, marion is usually a guy's name. But to other country, it might be a girl's name.

There are quite a few names that are now considered unisex. Marion, Leslie, Courtney, Ashley, and so on. With this particular name, I first think of the feminine (as in "Maid Marian"), but it could easily be masculine. Two of my children have names that could cross over, but I changed the spellings so that there could be no mistake. I have a Cortni and an Ashleigh.
