hello moneymommy
if i lived closer to ya, i would come and pick you up instead of you having to walk eight miles. btw, how long have you been without a vehicle to drive? thanks for sharing. on the times that my car has broken down on me, one of my family members will come over and pick me up and take me wherever that i need to be. i am lucky that my family just lives down the road from me. btw, where did you have to walk eight miles to?
take care and have a beautiful day today!

Well last year after I got laid off my mini van got repoed. ( I almost had the thing paid off) Then when tax time rolled around we bought a used vehicle. We ended up needing money so we ended up selling it. So now I am stuck without a car again. I am so happy I start work tommorow. I will be able to start getting things back to normal. We had to go get medication and that was the closest and cheapest place to get it. 8 miles round trip walking yuk!! But I did it.

My car is not working right now, so I don't have a car to go anywhere. My sister has been letting me use her car some days. She is on her way over here so I can go to the bank and the grocery store. I could walk, but with my 2 year old that is not exactly practical.

Eight miles is quite a distance especially if you are achy. I guess eight miles can take up to an hour walking. If it is a nice day, you can take your time, and stop to rest often. I imagine there is no public transportation or taxi service near you. Are you talking about eight miles one way, or eight miles in total?

I know that it must be hard to do. I don't feel so alone now. I also don't have a car and I live in an area which is pretty rural. Walking is good for our health though and I know that I should probably be doing a lot more of it.
If you have to do something important and it requires walking for eight miles then it must be done. I would walk it too if I knew that it was something of necessity.
I am guessing that you might not have public transportation in your area.
I know that I don't have much in the way of buses in my neck of the woods and I sure miss the urban life style sometimes.
I hope that you are safe and that you can take your time. I also hope that your walking shoes or sneakers are comfortable! You might want to do some stretching too before you head out the door.

oh that is awful, 8 miles is a long way. let me know if you made already, I know for it if I did it I would be so sore when I got home that I would not be able to walk for about a week because of it.

Walking is such great excercise and if the weather is nice, then I would love to do walking to and from things, as I plan to do more in the summer time.... to save on gas, to get more excercise and to get out of the house after this horribly long winter!!!
I hope you feel better after the walk, sorry you are feeling yucky!!
