CNN really gets it wrong |
|
CNN actually talked about the tea parties today. That really shocked me. But the whole story was about how Fox news was covering them and how bad that was. Not really about the ralies or why they were happening. Of course it was not put in a postive or even unbiased light. THey made it sound like Fox news started the whole thing and they didn't. It is a grassroots project. CNN even admitted that until now they have not covered to protests and tea parties on purpose and that Fox was irresponsible for giving it any air time at all. They also called the tea parties "anti Obama". Which I do not think is not true. Anti some of the democratic party politics? Anti wasteful spending?Yes but no against Obama personally. But against some of the corrupt and wasteful practices that have been going on in washington by our elected officials for WAY TOO LONG.
What do you think? Should CNN have purposely ignored these events? When they did cover it should they have done it in a more unbiased way? Is CNN even trying to make the appearance of looking unbiased anymore? Should a news organization spend their time opening attacking another news organization?

lilwonders456 (1851) | 7 months ago | Yep I agree But CNN is covering it as "a bad thing" and "not worth our time". Except to use to show how bad Fox news is for giving it any air time. I thought it was a bad move by CNN. Cover it or not...but why spend your time instead of really covering what the rallies are about, just trashing another network for actually covering it.

2. xParanoiax (4933) | 7 months ago | That bothered me too. I saw that bit on youtube.
I don't like how this was all mostly ignored or made light of for awhile either...and that people're trying to use it now sortof, I dunno, disgusts me? Bleh. People.
Unbiased? It's hard for people to be unbiased...but I agree, they could use more journalistic integrity. I've learned not to expect it though; that's what the internet is for right?
Should they? No. But like I said, they don't use alot of integrity.

4. kennyrose (4004) | 7 months ago | Fox news has run CNN,MSNBC almost out of business every event Fox News buries them, during the RNC and DNC Fox news viewer topped MNSBC by one million more viewer and CNN 700,000 more viewers so they do have a very big problem when it comes to Fox news because they don't hold a candle to Fox news the rating speak for them self. Fox news has been mentioning the tea parties for the last two weeks,Fox news will be live in Atlanta and Sacramento,as well Fox news will be running coverage on April 15 TH on big tea parties all across the United States, there are 2,000 planned all across the United State on April 15Th,I will be attended one near where I live.
The tea parties are a mixture of things from over taxation, budget, laws, spending, abortion, gun control and so forth as every one has their personal issues. Fox news has done a awesome job of informing the people because that is what they do twenty-four seven and it makes them # 1 for eight years and running. CNN,MSNBC,NBC is to be a news reporting agents and not a popularity contest which MSNBC have become, nor are they to suppressing the news, they report only what is positive on Obama and like Obama constantly making fun of and running down any one that is not democrat, liberal or hold their views that is not good journalism,MSNBC is more gulity of this then CNN. CNN and MSNBC attract Fox news on a regular base it is very clear they monitor Fox News on going just looking for some thing to pick about,it has little to help either of them on their rating you'd think they would both wise up. On the other side I would like to share this awesome lady with you just click the link below and then click Boyle;s got talent it is an awesome 3 minutes of your time, and it's not politics, share with your freinds>>>>> ENJOY.

5. Latrivia (1494) | 7 months ago | Despite MSNBC's snarky and disgustingly skewed coverage of the tea parties (and, of course, relabeling them as 'tea bagging parties'), at least THEY managed to cover the fact that the protesters are indeed protesting policies and acts of the Bush administration. I like how the CNN clip led you to believe Fox news started the whole thing - never mind that the entire set up is a grass roots event and they've even turned down politicians who offered to speak because they want to keep it that way.
CNN and MSNBC are writing the protests off as loony right wingers protesting useless nonsense. That's why they haven't covered it in so long. They were prompted to by the Fox news coverage of the event.
All 3 major news organizations attack each other. This is why I never bother with them - they all skew the stories to their own partisan ideologies, and they make news into entertainment.

6. us2owls (2022) | 7 months ago | It would be nice if people would boycott CNN, MSNBC and the likes for a good long period and go to strictly Fox News. That might send these people a message. I hope the tea parties are a great success and as long as we are being governed by what we have now in the Senate and congress I would like to see tea parties done every year. It may give some a wake up call.

7. taface412 (1978) | 7 months ago | When i saw this on a news segment on Fox (of course it was the local stations though) they did not mentione anything about it being anti-obama, what they did say it was as an anniversary of re-enacting the Boston tea party and how some eco agencies were trying to discourage them from doing it because the ecosystem could be compromised, and they could even be fined. I thought it would be interesting to have a tobacco party with the ridiculous tax hike....LOL but us smokers wouodln't want to see all that tobacco go to waste.
After the elections i basically only trust public stations like PBS and Fox (for the most part) to report things. CNN was one I found to be very biased and of course they would peg another station who did not show a heavy bias as being biased. Who would have thought. I hardly ever watch CNN now.

8. Taskr36 (4490) | 7 months ago | Well it's about freaking time they actually MENTION the tea parties. It's truly pathetic the way they chose to ignore it and anything else that might reflect poorly on Obama. The most pathetic thing is that they are too stupid to realize that the tea parties aren't about Obama. They're primarily about the morons in congress who voted to approve all the ridiculous taxing and spending. Either way CNN has truly given up on being anything that resembles a news organization. MSNBC did that a while ago, but I had hope that CNN would have a bit more integrity. I guess I was wrong.

lilwonders456 (1851) | 7 months ago | oh they know it is not about Obama. But that is how htey are going to play it to make them look bad. THey could careless about the truth. These tea parties do not fit in with their agenda so they will say whatever they have to to discredit it and anyone who goes to them.

9. jonesy123 (3254) | 7 months ago | I haven't seen that yet. But I'm sure it'll be shown several times so I have to go and see what they are saying. Did they really say that the tea parties are 'anti-Obama'? And that Fox is irresponsible for reporting on that, just because it's 'anti-Obama'?
Well, if that is true, they have now completely shown their true color and how biased their reporting is. Just because they perceive it as anti-Obama, which it not even is, but that's besides the point, doesn't mean they shouldn't report on it. Is Obama above reproach? Why would it be okay to for example report on anti-Bush protests (you know all those war protests, the shoe thrower and the protests that came in that manner) but not Obama? Can't be the position of President then that puts Obama above reproach... so what gives? ... yep, the truly irresponsible party would be CNN in this case.
Fortunately enough, not many follow CNN's lead. Unfortunately, except for FOX, the media giants are still curiously quiet about the tea parties, but on a more local level things are being picked up now on radio stations and in news papers. They can't ignore it forever nor can they dismiss it as anti-Obama forever.
Come to think of it, there are rumors that ACORN will not only counter-demonstrate the tea parties but there'll also be planted 'racists' to make it look like the tea parties are nothing else than modernized klan gatherings. Maybe the anti-Obama comments are made in order to be able to say 'told you so' later.

10. sndcain36 (2638) | 7 months ago | There is a reason CNN's ratings are in the toilet..... They are incredibly dishonest....right along with that tabloid garbage excuse for a news channel MSNBC...whenever someone tells me they get all their news from MSNBC I immediately peg them for an ignorant koolaid drinking 0bama woshipper and their opinions become utterly meaningless.
It would be like them telling me they get all their news from the National Enquirer. They might as well
