An fast growing faith: The Jedi  

Kind of off topic but I think all religions and faiths had the right idea to start with.... and man and time kind of knocked them to the side and off track.

If people can find peace, love, and direction in their faith or religion then more power to them.(just my feeling on it)

holy crap...there are websites where you can find instructions for building your own lightsaber! you really can find anything online. just google "build your own light saber".

My dad does that with his cane... grand kids run. But then I've never pointed out that he never used corporal punishment on his kids.... We'll let them think what they like.

I am all for any faith that teaches humans to play nice, not kill others (with out one heck of a good reason), and protect the Mother Earth. This one seems to fit... but I still had a giggle when I first found it.

Dumb? Maybe, but I can think of worse (I'm not mentioning any names *cough-heavensgate-cough*) and I didn't see anything that made me want to scream with horror or anger. That alone makes it better then some.

Now, David, Savior of all..... how does one make their own light saber?

I'm more of a faith follower (spiritual) then that of any religion. Religion is over rated and full of stinky holes.

I am an ordained Spiritual Humanist though. There is much to agree with and I can perform ceremonies for those around me that ask it of me. But with all religions... it has it's issues.

I know i maybe shouldn't and may regret it later, but who is David?

Faith is so very important... even if it's faith in yourself. I think that if being a Jedi brings folks a sense of being, a faith to call home, and it teaches right from wrong... then it's all good.

As long as it brings them what they need....

I was recently ordained in Spiritual Humanist so I know where you're coming from.

In my younger years I was a follower of the Wandering Gnomes but they went over the top when they wanted to sacrifice Tinkerbell to please the Great Travelocity Gnome. You know how Fundies can get.

Um.. well.. yeah... there is a real wizard and witchcraft school that was started in the UK after the books came out. I'll have to look it up but it's out there. A lot of us witchy folks were kind of rolling our eyes at it.

I guess we think of our paths differently when we are standing on them.

Hmmm now I might be interested in a genuine Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I think that would be loads of fun. Cooking would be so much easier to have all that hard work done on command. lol

As for the idea of the force it is not so strange. Moving without use of the conscious mind is not that unusual. Letting instinct and intuitive reactions take over is not easy to achieve but is possible.
