All former Yuwie-ites or people who are thinking of leaving Yuwie, opinons? |
|
I'm seriously wanting to point this out to Y Guy over on Yuwie. For those of you who signed up and deleted your accounts, what were the biggest reasons why? Who signed up and got right back off again? Who was really invested in the site but just gave up or got mad and left? Was it something about the site? Was it the people? The ads? Error messages? Insufficient earnings? If it was more than one thing, please name all of them in order. I think the responses will be eye opening!

1. Jezebella (1310) | 7 months ago | I was basically all of the above for me. The earnings were so low and you had to have referrals to really earn anything which I just got bored with trying to find ways to get them.. I got bored with the site and the constant blogs on getting more referrals and the impersonalness of it all.

| |
|
|
dawnald (9179) | 7 months ago | Yes you do need to have referrals, that's for certain and even harder than getting them is keeping them active. And yeah all the blogs on the same stuff over and over again is no fun, but there are a lot of good ones out there too. But as for impersonal, I've actually made quite a few good friends there. Though a lot of it is very impersonal!

jellymonty (1372) | 7 months ago | Yuwie is EXTREMELY boooooring!! I signed up and all I got was junk mail. The program is just totally rubbish and there is no way anyone can make money on that site. It is more like an advertising forum for people to sell you their money making programs and other rubbish to you. So my advice to anyone currently in yuwie.. delete delete delete your account! Anyone thinking of signing up.. DONT!

2. keasling (366) | 7 months ago | I never really left I just quit being online. I put all money making opp on the back burner and was actually working. When I joined I was a homemaker. I was home all the time and was able to blog post get referrals and be able to keep the referrals active but once I stopped so did the referral activity. I am restarting. I figure the site is for socializing and networking. Most people use it for promoting all the other programs. I don't have not one serious beef about yuwie. I figure if I get one penny that is more than what i get on myspace. Myspace does have better activities to do but yet they have the money backing it to do it all.

|
|
dawnald (9179) | 7 months ago | I can't complain. I've made something like $23 that I wouldn't have had otherwise. But yep, keeping referrals active is hard. Takes a whole lot more work than the $$$ are worth (to me at least).

3. katsmeow1213 (4816) | 7 months ago | I got bored with the site real quick. I added a bunch of friends thinking they'd help me make a lot of money, but all they did was spam me. I never deleted the account, but I haven't logged into it in months.

dawnald (9179) | 7 months ago | There was an incredible amount of spam going on, but in between all that I did manage to make some good friends.

4. thebohemianheart (2696) | 7 months ago | I signed up there, and was there for quite a while. It just got to the point where it wasn't worth the time I spent there. I would hit more than a hundred profiles a day, and I might have 5 hits on my own profile. Then there was all the spamming on my comments page. I was there for 6 months, I think, and earnings were not even at a dollar, at that point. As hard as I worked at it, it just didn't work for me.
YOu know, when you are hitting profiles, and not getting any hits on your own, it just gets kind of discouraging.
One good thing to come from being on Yuwie, I met someone with whom I still communicate . In part, he is responsible for all these dancing women running around on mylot today.*L* He encouraged me to work on my art by asking me if I would be interested in doing a book cover for him. I still do graphics work for him.

| |
|
|
dawnald (9179) | 7 months ago | Now see, that is worth a lot! But yeah, the commenting and the page view thing is just too much work. I get more out of it reading blogs and actually talking to people.
| |
|
|
thebohemianheart (2696) | 7 months ago | I only ever had two people there that actually carried on conversations. And, yeah, I got a lot out of some of the blogs. But, even with commenting on them, and sharing opinions, it was never like this.*S*
And, yes, my the friendship that came from there, was worth my time there.

5. owlwings (5015) | 7 months ago | I am a member but I've never bothered to do much there. I don't dislike the site but I distrust its earnings algorithm. It is not a bad place for networking but all of the people there seem to be after one thing ... money - and you to supply it.
I suppose that there are many sites on this Internet-earth and some are OK for some and not for others. Yuwie just doesn't seem to be the place for me (which is, perhaps, my loss and not theirs). I think that one can do the same thing with many blogging/networking sites and, perhaps, have less competition from those who are just out to sell their 'Make $5,000 a week' programs.

I am still a member there and you are right most of the members there were there to make money, including me! but there wasn't much more to do. Of course there was the usual sending comments or PMs but no conversations like this, no fun and laughter and referring people who then lost interest, it was a big waste of time.
Dawn: it was a big waste of time for me hon, I pop in every now and then to see if any new referrals have signed up under me to send them a welcome message and try to interact with them, but I get blanked most of the time, that put me right off the site. Getting spammed all the time too is a right turn off.

6. sammyspam (291) | 7 months ago | Social networking sites are about meeting new people and making friends. But I didnt find any of this in Yuwie, people were fixated on earnings and only wanted to increase their earnings and promote their other online sites. I got sick of the people, the little to no enjoyment i was having and the pay rate. My issue with the pay rate was we only earned 10% of our activities (from memory) We should earn something like 80%.
| |
| |
|
|
dawnald (9179) | 7 months ago | I found a lot of that too, although the people who wanted quick money without having to work for it mostly left the site. But as for the pay rate, I'm betting the site owner isn't bringing in enough to pay 80%.
I did find nice people there. There's a core group that's only interested in socializing and many of them are a lot of fun.
| |
|
|
sammyspam (291) | 7 months ago | Your very lucky to find a group of people interested in socialising.
I think its the way Yuwie is built that is a problem, they have 10 level of refs (which is great) but you personally have a low% of earnings (as do all your ref levels, except for level 10)
This sets Yuwie up so people just try to refer, refer and refer because they cant earn any money by themselves.

8. kbourgerie (1918) | 7 months ago | There are many reasons I deleted my account. One is the earnings. It was a mere pittance at best. Secondly, I just didn't get to know people like I do on this site. It was more an exchange of fairy graphics rather than a meeting of the minds. It got to be a bit boring after awhile. Just not really worth the time.
| |
| |
|
|
dawnald (9179) | 7 months ago | yeah too much fairy graphics, not enough conversation, I agree. but I managed to find some people...

10. Citychic (1993) | 7 months ago | all former yuwie- ites.
Well I'm still a yuwie user but I just don't visit it as often. I like the idea of being able to look right on the toolbar and I can see my earnings. Yuwie is fine but I can't have anyone thinking that I'm gonna be there for them all the time. There is no friend on this planet that can be available to us 24/7, 365......... so the whole structure of it is kind of missleading........ Even still I will probably keep the site open just so that I can break the monotony from time to time.
