I love to read Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys, but I do not have the courage to borrow the books from the library now.
And I do not want to spend money buying the books to read.
If given a chance, I would like to catch up on the reading of Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys. I still love to read mysteries, but those are classified under adult fictions, not books for teens.

Nancy Drew was my first mystery novel experience. I grew up with it along with sweet dreams and RL Stein. I'd love to read me some more nancy drews but I have as yet to build up my nancy drew collection as i used to just borrow them from the library when i was a kid.

Hi...it's so good to meet another ND fan here....I love Nancy Drew stories....especially the yellow flashlight edition number 1 - 56. I have most of them but still looking for Mystery of The Fiery Dragon. When I started collecting them I collected the numbers randomly as some numbers were not available and I had to wait for new shipment to arrive at the bookstores. Now I have most of the yellow flashlight edition and I am re reading the series accordingly to the numbers. I just love the stories...it gives you the vintage feel and also the decriptive writign about the house, meal times...it's nice..thumbup. However, I don't really like the new series...ummm don't know what's it called but it's crazily expensive and so thin compared to the vintage series. I have read the case files as well but not too many numbers. And don't really like them as well. As for Hardy boys, I have never read a single one of them...still prefer Nancy Drew.

May I ask what is the yellow flashlight edition? how much does each one cost? Are they still available for sale?

I did not get to go to the library as a child, but I had one or two Nancy Drew books that were someone's cast offs. I read them many times. I do love mystery. I love reading. I do not make the time for it I should, though. I own lots of books as well.

I like mostly nonfiction but if I read a novel my first choice is a mystery book. I am reading my second Lawrence Block novel right now. First I read Ticket to the Bone Yard and now I am reading Burglars Cann't be Choosers.

myLot reputation of 96/100. ANTIQUELADY (16514)   ranked 63 out of 9,003 in reading  3 years ago

thanks for your response. i have not read any books by him, i'll have to check him out. thanks for the tip. all i read is fiction.

myLot reputation of 98/100. muscles4me (11361)  3 years ago

Block is a fiction writer Antique and I really like him because he does not go into to much filth if you know what I mean. Look for his books if you can. I like to hit some garage sales. Doris doesn't get around as well as she used to though so I usually just go on my way to or from her house. I haven't seen any recetly here though.

i sure will. i love to hear of a new author. i have so many favorite ones now but i always love to hear about one i've never read. thanks muscles. i'm reading a barbara taylor bradford book right now. have u read her?

myLot reputation of 98/100. muscles4me (11361)  3 years ago

Yes in the past I have read BTB but its alittle too romantic for me. Plus she does tend to preach, not that I am against that I just don't want it mixed in my fiction.

Oooh!!! Nancy Drew! I miss reading Nancy Drew mysteries. I was just thinking about it last week. And I probably would buy more of her books when I get the chance. I just love reading them. Speaking of mysteries, I'm also going to start searching for Agatha Christie's mystery novels. Probably buy an e-book or something.

When I was younger I read Nancy Drew mystery books, and I borrow them from my sister coz she really reads a lot. Now, my daughter is fond of reading books, I guess I would buy Nancy Drew books for her.
