Which one is the most colorful festival in your area?

I think that the most colourful festival in Denmark is the carnival in Copenhagen or in Aalborg. I have never been to the Carnival in Copenhagen, but I have been to the one in Aalborg. It is usually a very colourful experience with many beautiful and imaginative costums. It was a lot of fun to be there.

We also have a festival called Fastelavn, and that is a festival for children. In the old days adults participated in this festival, but that was a long time ago. At Fastelavn children dress up in costums and then they "slaar katten af toenden" ("hit the cat out of the barrel"). One child after another hits a wooden barrel, in the old days there was a cat inside the barrel, but now the barrel is full of candy instead. The child who knocks down the bottom of the barrel becomes "the queen of cats".

Literally colourful there is one starting very soon when some streets and yards in the old town are decorated with flowers for a couple of weeks. You can discover a few places everyday as they can be a bit hidden. It is also a chance to visit some historical building which are normally closed to the public.

In my area all festivals are fervently celebrated.The Ramnavami,Janamashtami,Shivaratri,Holi,Durgapuja and Deewali all festivals seem colorful.

I don't know of a festival here in the Phil like that. What we do have are colorful fluvial parades and the festive Sinulog, Dinagyang, Ati-Atihan and many more of similar nature where street dancing of costumed merry makers are the standard fare. Almost every province/region have their own festival but have close similarities on how they are celebrated.

How is Holi celebrated? I watched one feature where people throw colorful dyes to each other. Is this Holi?

that would be the carafest parade in July of every year, people from the caribbean dance down the streets in some of the most dazzling customs you were ever see, it is like mardi gras, in brazil, it is beautiful.

Colourful day in whole India is holi, only.
But when i was in Nasik, there people use to celeberate a colourful day after 5 days to holi and call it Basant Panchmi.

Hello coolmailraj I think India is the only country where in 12 months 13 festivals are celebrated. So in my opinion almost all festival are colourful. But for me most colourful festival is Durgapuja and Diwali.

We don't have anything like it that I know of in the states. A friend of mine teaches yoga and she is thinking of letting the kids do something similar at the end of the term.
