which hurts the most the TRUTH or the LIE?

I would much rather hear the truth, in the long run lies only cause more problems and more pain, because the truth is going to come out and when it does the person is hurt not only by the truth but also by the fact that yo lied to them.

i think a lie hurts alot more than the truth no matter how bad the truth can be. i hate to be lied to & hate a person to lie to me. there is no way a lie could better. it something a person doesn't have to do. some people lie when the truth would do better. i think it is a sickness that people have who lie all the time. i have never understood why people lie because the truth will come out sooner or later.

I feel like they both may hurt, depending on what you are the other person is going to say. I would rather someone tell me the truth and have it hurt than hide the truth from me, even if it's to spare my feelings. I think truth is so important because I think being deceitful is just not right.

Well, telling someone the Truth, especially when it Hurts someone, including yourself might be hard, but yet, it is something easier to accept than covering up things, or telling someone a lot of lies to cover yourself, and getting caught in the end. Actually I despise someone who is constantly lying, and feel that eventually they will not know the Truth from a LIE, and it could come back to haunt them and loose a lot of friends in the end.

a lie hurts more because at least if truth hurts you know the person has enough respect in you to tell you the truth. but a lie deprives you of your dignity since someone views you not valuable enough not to hear or know of the truth

a LIE hurts deeply. if one can't tell the truth, then that person should keep his/her mouth shut always. i find it harder to recover from a lie. once i know the truth, i am more able to put it behind me and, hopefully, learn the lesson presented. but a lie? it will always haunt me as i question why one would lie any way.

The lie will cause the most hurt because eventually the truth will come out and everything will be dredged up again and wounds reopened.

I can't stand it when someone lies to me for whatever reason. I was raised to tell the truth or keep my mouth shut and that is the way that I expect others to be with me. It is one thing that will make me walk away from most anyone. If I know that I have heard a lie from someone, and especially if it was a major one that was hurtful in any way, I have no respect for that person anymore. A person is only as good as their word and if they lie, they aren't any good. I think a lie hurts most.

Yes, I will rather know the truth than lie.

i guess nobody likes to be lied to. To me it depends on the situation. If I lied for a good reason then I guess it would not hurt me or the other person. But if the lie is told for a bad purpose then I too cannot accept it. I have lied but just to help one of my friend in her relationship. I saw her husband with someone else and when she found out about it and told me I just behaved like I did not know anything. So you see it all depends.
