It's Time to Put Nancy Pelosi Under Oath!  

Taskr, the CIA already lied to Bob Graham, and Bob and Nancy were on the same committee at the same time, so they lied to her as well. This is a proven fact, so the CIA did lie, the only question now is if Nancy was part of any meeting that Bob Graham wasn't, and is lying about it. I would like to know, but like I said in my response to this: I don't think you (or any American) are going to be happy with the results.

Well, putting Pelosi under oath would be part of a full investigation in the whole matter.

As far as I know the only lie regarding Bob Graham was over what dates they met with him. That could be chalked up to poor records, but the dates aren't really the issue at hand anyway. This is about what was and wasn't said in those meetings. Pelosi herself has already lied and changed her story so there's certainly no question that she herself is NOT honest.

What it comes down to is the truth needs to come out and if the CIA lied to Pelosi, they need to answer for it. If they are telling the truth and Pelosi is smearing them to save her own skin, she needs to answer for that.

Taskr, The CIA LIED to Bob Graham about the dates of meetings (atleast that is what you would say if it met your personal political needs). The CIA used all of the dates that they gave Bob Graham to prove that Nancy Pelosi was lying about her statements. According to former CIA agents, record keeping is not their strong suite.

I do find it funny how republicans are taking the word of the CIA all of the sudden. We all remember the how republicans released the name of a CIA agent for political purposes, and said that we should question their actions by sending Joseph Wilson to investigate the Bush administration (remember the good old days when investigating the president was a capital crime, and anyone that did so would be attacked on all sides by the right wing hate media) which led to Scooter Libby going to jail. Now all of the sudden (again when it makes political sense), the CIA should be trusted, and we should never question their actions. Para, I agree with you 100% they should investigate this. But, I don't think anyone will be happy with the results of that investigation, and you may have some members of the Bush administration taking the fifth in front of Congress. That won't be good for anyone involved.

Dude, read my freaking post. I'm not taking anyone's word right now. I'm saying we need to find out who is lying. I have no doubt Pelosi's lying since she can't keep her story straight. The fact that she's a liar however doesn't mean the CIA isn't lying as well. I just want the facts to come out.

Nancy Pelosi has had over 2 years to call any investigation she wants... so far she hasn't called any at all. Kind of suspicious considering how much hot air she spewed about investigations when she was vying for the job.

Ted, what good would it do anyone to expose the flaws of the CIA? If someone used one of these flaws to attack us, or use them against us, wouldn't that be considered treason?

There are legal ways Congress can investigate the CIA (or any other agency) without making it public. However, I wasn't refering to Pelosi investigating the CIA, I was just saying that she's had over two years to make good on all her blustering about investigating the Bush administration, but has either been too lazy, too incompetent, or just learned that when it comes right down to it, Bush didn't do anything juicy enough to bother.

Yeah, for a woman who wanted the position so badly, she's done pathetically little with it. So far she has accomplished none of the things she promised... not a single thing.

If she is committing a felony, why allow her to continue? Are you always this lazy?

This is a call for her impeachment.

What are you talking about? I heard with my own ears Pelosi admit that she WAS briefed on the use of enhanced interrogation techniques, including waterboarding, but her lameass excuse was "we were told it was going to be used, not that it HAD been used."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The CIA came to congress to GET PERMISSION and Pelosi GAVE it and now she wants to claim she didn't know anything?

Ted, you do have to remember that this information is still classified, so she had better watch what she says. I am not the biggest fan of Nancy, but the facts are still as I presented them. I don't use blogs as fact, nor do I know anyone else that does. I couldn't even find anything on RNC news (AKA FOX News) stating the quotes that SND provided the link for. And, you know as well as I do, if this quote were true, they would blast it over their air ways 24/7.

SND, I noticed that no one else is using that Maddow quote. I also noticed that it was not on FOX News, who would have aired this 24/7 if it happened, or was true. I NEVER use blogs for actual facts, but apparently you believe everything that you read (well, that is if it meets your personal political needs).

You know, I still get asked questions about things that are classified. I still never have to change the answers when I do. Why? Because I don't sit there and lie to the person about the answer... I simply say, "sorry, that's classified".

If your defense is true, apparently Pelosi is too big a coward to come out and say it. Or she wants to look like a big shot for knowing the answer... or there is another reason..

She's lying.

Either she is lying or ALL the other members of the committee and the CIA are lying, so let's put her (and the others) under oath and see what comes out.
