Are you saying that the Iraq war wasn't promoted through lies or that the user who posted the discussion did a bad job to star a valid argument?

I'm saying that I don't know and that all the people making that claim including the OP have either failed or refused to provide any proof. A list of names isn't proof especially since this list lacks any citation or any specific claims that any one of them may have made regarding whether or not Bush lied to get us into war with Iraq.

I guess it did some good in getting rid of him. But according to sources Iraq was going up to be a first world country in Sadams watch. I am not in any way defending him, but to rebutal your comment, it seems like the war did worse for one country economically.

The WMD story was lie from the beginning and sources say that both Cheney and Bush knew that too. So, we can't see why they would have to lie about WMDs but like a lot of countries around the world they used the pretext of 9/11 as a war on terror.

And just because Bush was voted in a second time, it didn't meant that the majority of the American people agreed with his policies, that just means that the Republican Party ran a good campaing in 2004, and like any good campaign they used propaganda.

I expected such responses from you Taskr36. You have now proven to mylotters that you would only believe anything that your Conservative repubs would put forth. You probably didn't even read the list or recognize any of those on the list. I challenge you to watch the video where those on that list tell what they know while being interviewed. The name of the documentary is "No End In Sight" if you don't have a Netflix account you can probably get it or order it through Blockbuster. You wanted proof... You now have it!

No, Taskr, a list of names doesn't prove anything other than to show that there are people who were in the position to know who believe they - and WE - were mislead. The point is to read or watch what they have to say and how they came up with their beliefs.

Wow, when studying research techniques I must have missed the chapter where they discussed how movies made by left-wing extremists from Berkeley (home of Taliban Johnny Walker)are considered PROOF of anything. I'm not going to waste my money, or spend an hour and forty-two minutes watching left wing propaganda. What's next? Would you like me to rent a few Michael Moore movies as well? How about this. I'll pretend for just a minute that your little movie is 100% truth and no propaganda. You tell me, exactly what in this movie PROVES that Bush lied to get us into the Iraq war. Since you seem to be an expert on the movie, perhaps you could furnish me with exactly what point in the movie this proof comes up and how it is presented.

I never said he was right and I've said many times in the past that we shouldn't have attacked Iraq. I don't think they were a direct threat to us. All I'm asking for is proof of what you claim "Everyone knows as fact". I'm still wondering why this proof is so hard to come by.

The New Deal is just like what Obama is doing. FDR nationalized the banks and I haven't seen any political party supporting communist ideologies since then (maybe because its not communism, its socilism.) In fact, when capitilism fails socialism saves it. We saw that with the 1929 market crash and we are seeing it now. Just because there are some socialism acts doesn't mean this country will be socialist country. The events just called for it, because we still haven't figured out any other way that is going to work to save a capitialist country when they are failing.

If the Obama administration were truly following capitalist doctrine, they would have let the banks go bankrupt, but because we don't want another Great Deppresion we need social programs, hence socialism, as a crutch until the economy goes to its capitalist standards.

First your argument is that you are scared of communism, but there is no communism, if anything there is socialism, and you complain that a CEO got fired? What do you think capitalism is? Exactly that, when you compete in a market you make as much profit as you can, but if you fail, you fail, no one bails you out so you lose your business either you get fired or you fire them.

Obama isn't doing anything new than what has been done in this country, the criticism he gets is just politics. Don't you think the Republicans would have done the same thing in bailing out the banks, in fact it was the Bush administration who said they should bail out banks, which means they have to nationalize it. I'm not saying Bush and Obama are the same, but those were just politic moves in order to keep their parties alive.

If you seriously believe we will be lucky to have a country at the end of this 4 years, then you are just speaking out of fear.

Thanks for standing up for America Johnnyg, and I agree that they used Colin Powell who was an outstanding General. They used several people in their own administration as pawns. The documentary that I listed has several of them speaking in front of a video camera describing exactly what happened and how they were used. Those who haven't viewed it claim it to be propaganda and it isn't.
