We made a trade and it's not working out too well...

Last summer we bought an eliptical for my husband who has knee problems and can't do the high-impact exercises. He used it for a while, then I started using it over the winter - some of you might remember some of my "Rhonda" discussions. I didn't care for it and went back to my normal 3-mile walks, bundling up when it was very cold out.
My in-laws were just somewhere and had a chance to use an eliptical and they really liked it. My husband decided he wanted their treadmill so we traded for them. Well, the first day they had the eliptical they broke it. Well, the lifted the wheel for some unknown reason and now we can't get it back down. My husband didn't show them how to work it so I'm sure they messed something up. And of course he hasn't used the treadmill and most likely wont because of his knees.
That's ok though, because I got my Wii Fit so I can do whatever I want with it!
Do you use an exercise machine? Do you like it or do you prefer to exercise outside?

I have the gazelle exercise machine. I got it at WalMart for a little over $100. I love it. When I first got it I could barely do 3 minutes, lol. But now I can really go on it. I just made myself go for about 5 minutes for a bit then built myself up to more over a few weeks. My grandchildren even love the gazelle and they take turns using it when they come over.

I don't know what that is, but it sounds like it's working for you! I think my husband also wants this kinda rowing thing too, but I don't want to buy anything else until I know he's going to use it!

There use to be commercials on tv about it. A guy named Tony "something" I do not remember his last name. But he is a really buffed guy with long blonde hair that was always pulled back into a pony tail. It's kind of like a skiing machine or that's what it acts like. It works your arms and legs they all go back and forth.

I don't have an excercise machine, except for my tredmill - if that counts. It's nothing special, but it's nice for when the weather is crappy and I can't go outside and walk (although I have to admit I actually HATE tredmill walking. It's sooo boring!).
lol. It would be nice to have a nice elliptical machine.

Oh, it is SOOO boring, and the eliptical is too... I like the Wii fit, though. It's kinda fun, almost like you're not alone.

I prefer to exercise outside, but here it gets very hot so I'm sure that will be difficult soon. However, I get very bored with treadmills since I like to actually be going somewhere. I also get bored doing stuff like running in place.
I have the Ab Lounge and it is horrible. I can do a bunch of the exercise on it, but you feel no burn at all. That thing doesn't do anything to my body.
I like the Wii Fit but it's not enough of a workout to make me lose weight. But I still have the basic one, maybe I'll try the new thing that just came out for it.

I don't like to be stationary or inside either. I walk my 3 miles outside almost every day, and I'm doing the Wii Fit at night (most of the time) as an extra. I do like the Wii Fit because you can do varied stuff with it. I also have a personal trainer, but I don't think I'm ready for that yet...

I have an elliptical trainer which i love. I bought it new a couple years at walmart for about $180. I use if from about the middle of October til the end of April and when its wet and icky outside.
When its not icky during the summer i prefer to be outside and mow my lawn, garden, go swimming, go for walks..go horseback riding.

Except for this past winter, I would do my walking all year long. I'd bundle up - gloves, earmuffs, coat... And walk REALLY fast to heat myself up. This past winter I did the eliptical and gained 15 pounds... I'm back to my normal walking now and I'm doing the Wii Fit every day also.

It wasn't working for me. I'd do it every day, and it was a rigorous exercise, but I think I shoulda stuck with my normal walking.
