Does your cell phone have a camera??How frequently do you use it?
I have a HTC Touch & Nokia Xpressmusic phones. Both of them have good quality cameras. But i rarely use them. The last time when i used the camera on my phone was for birthday party of my office colleague, where nobody was carrying a digital camera. Do you really think its an essential part of the cellphone??

|
|
| vaibhavratnaparkhi (68) | 5 months ago | Hey Mauleonjuan, Even i have had similar thoughts. The camera on the phone helps and comes in handy only in a rare scenarios, so thats really not worth the cost.....What are your thoughts? Which cellphone do you have and what are the camera specs on your phone??

3. lulu1220 (431) | 5 months ago | I use it all the time! I found it very handy when I am out shopping and I see something interesting but do not necessarily want to buy it now. So I will snap a picture of it.
I also went to this really quirky, funky store when I was out of town. They had the most unsual things in there. I was not allowed to take pictures with my camera. But I did get my cell out (trying to make it look like I was just reading a text message) and snapped some pictures of some interesting things I saw. I found out how to turn off the sound when the picture is being taken so no one could hear it.
| |
| |
|
|
| vaibhavratnaparkhi (68) | 5 months ago | Hey Lulu, I absolutely agree with you. Its a fact that you never know what you come across that you can actually take a picture of...and you can take a pic instantaneously.....thats where the cell phone camera can come in real handy.... But i must say that i havent experienced any such moments and probably thats the reason why i feel thats the cellphone camera is not really worth the cost.... So which cell phone do you use for taking pics and what are the camera specs on that cell phone??
Regards, Vaibhav

5. wrangel15 (838) | 5 months ago | Guess what I only have one camera and it is the phone on my phone. I enjoy taking pictures and I almost take pictures everyday. I would take pictures in my neighborhood, office, while riding a bus, while walking as I go home. I have my phone with me all the time & I really take pictures a lot.
For me the camera in my phone is now important. I never knew I am into photography until I got my own phone with a camera.
I cannot wait to have my first SLR camera...

6. book1962 (14301) | 5 months ago | hi, my cellphone also has a camera but I have only used it four or five times so far. I am no big fan of photography anyways and just tried it out to make sure it really works. I didnt buy that particular cellphone cause it had a camera but cause I liked the "screen" as its a bit bigger than most and had a bargain price.

So which phone do you have..??

7. jules67 (1868) | 5 months ago | Yes, I do have a camera on my cellphone. I seldom use it because I prefer using a real camera. Mine doesn't have a good resolution. I used it when I am being requested by my 5-year-old niece to take pictures of her and I do not have my camera with me.

|
| vaibhavratnaparkhi (68) | 5 months ago | Hey Jules, Completely agree with you. I have 2 phones and the quality of pics is quite good, but even then i prefer using my digital camera. I use the cellphone camera only & only when i am left with no other options. So which cellphone do you have??

| 8. EmptyFlash (21) | 5 months ago | I was actually surprised. I was happy when I got a cell phone with a camera, but I actually haven't used it very much. The quality on it is horrid while it's convenient there isn't as often of a use for it as I would have thought. It really just isn't that practical for me.

9. PeacefulWmn9 (2300) | 5 months ago | The cell phone I last had did have a camera, and I used it often. The pictures were high quality and good for sending others or posting online. I got a new boost phone yesterday, very basic, to save on monthly expenses, so no camera.

| |
|
|
| vaibhavratnaparkhi (68) | 5 months ago | Hey Peacefulwmn, Nice to know that you used your cellphone camera quite a lot. Which cell did you have and what were the camera specs??
You have mentioned that you got a "BOOST" phone...what does "BOOST" mean...is it a company name?? I havent heard it before...so just curious...
Regards, Vaibhav
| |
|
|
PeacefulWmn9 (2300) | 5 months ago | The camera phone was a Nextel i280, Motorala phone. The Boost phone/plan is also through Nextel, but no contract required, yayyyy!! For a flat 50.00 a month, you get unlimited use of all the features. You "re-boost" by purchasing a phone card of varying amounts each month. That way, you can control exactly what you spend, and again, I am so glad to out from under the contract. Every single time I want to upgrade or downgrade my plan, I had to begin the entire 2-yrs. from scratch, and I hated that!
| |
|
|
| vaibhavratnaparkhi (68) | 5 months ago | Hey, I think what "boost" means is basically "pre-paid"..... Here you pay only for what you use and not for unwanted features....
Nice to know about that....i was not sure thats what it is called in the US...Here in India we basically call it "pre-paid"...
Correct me if i am wrong.
Regards, Vaibhav
| |
|
|
PeacefulWmn9 (2300) | 5 months ago | No, you are right...it is pay before use.

10. astonysh (1735) | 5 months ago | When I first got it I was taking photos all over the place - swans, tulips, scenes out of the office window, my wife (many times). In the last few months I have almost forgotten that I still have it, maybe the novelty wore off, and anyway we have a newish digital camera.
| |
| |
|
|
| vaibhavratnaparkhi (68) | 5 months ago | Hey Astonysh, Thats excatly the same case with me as well. The first time when i got a camera phone i was so happy that i clicked pics of almost everything....and more importantly the quality of the pics was horrible as compared to the current cameras.... But now when i have phones with better picture quality & clarity, i dont tend to use them at all... So which camera phone do you have??
Regards, Vaibhav

astonysh (1735) | 5 months ago | It's a Samsung - I do not have the model number to hand. Pretty reasonable mid-range model.
