You know those bungi tampoline rides that they have set up in some malls? Well One of my nephews and his 2 1/2 year old sister have both been harnessed in and had turns on one. It is called the "Extreme Web" but it is actually more like a bungi swing. Well after watching her toddler cousin do it, my daughter became determined and started nagging and begging. We were already at the mall. I called her dad, and then she did it. They harnessed her in and I watched her go high in the air and enjoy it. She was a bit afraid in the middle of it, but she hung in there. Now she want's to go again. Have you ever been more afraid of an activity than your kids, and let them do it anyway?

Kids on the scrambler - My kids on the Scrambler at the fair last year.
The first time my daughter, who was 5 years old at the time, decided she was going on the Scrambler at the fair. It was last fall. I didn't think she'd like it, but she did. After that she spent the rest of the evening going on bunches of adult rides, there was nothing she'd say no to. It terrified me and I was waiting for her to tell me she was sick, but she got off every ride with a huge smile on her face. Here's a pic of her 2nd turn on the Scrambler, when her twin brother finally got up the courage to try it... this one ride was enough for him.

The Scrambler used to be one of my favorites. I guess it just goes to show, they may know when they are ready for something even before we do.

My kids love that thing. I have some pics of my daughter doing it on my cell phone. She got REALLY high! My son this summer has been on a kayak, sea doo, tubing, and all sorts of stuff. I am glad I am not there to watch it. I think it would make me nervous for him. But he loves it.

I don't think I'd be brave enough to let someone else pull me on an inner tube behind a boat. I think my father in law scared me enough with his boat driving. Watching my soon to be hubby being dragged about on his face...not for me.

Now, that sounds like an experience. I'm glad you can do things like that for your daughter.
