Do you listen to music that is sang in a foreign language? |
|
Well i do.
I don't understand korean nor japanese. But i love listening to them. Those ballads can be real soothing.
And at times, there are songs that have the same melody as some mandarin song just that the words are in different languages. And it's real cool to listen to them.
What about you?
Do you listen to songs sung in a foreign language?
Why do you listen to them?

Maybe some of you knows the anime, DeathNote. Remember the song at the beginning of it? I'm so hooked up with it. I even sing the words they're singing even though I don't understand what it means. hehe...:) Really enticing and I enjoy it. Though, my brother keeps on asking me, "are you weird? why do you keep on singing that song you don't even know what it means?". And every time he gets irritated with my singing, he would ussually shout, "cut it off! my ears gonna explode!". hehe...:) But that doesn't stop me from listening and singing japanese rock songs. JAPROCK!!!
Who's your favorite JAPROCK?

| 15. lolislol (83) | 7 months ago | I only listen to songs sang in a foreign language, i just somehow don't like songs sang in my own language as much as the ones sang in foreign languages. Usually english songs, but sometimes japanese and some other languages, also, not only the songs words matter, but the singing style and the beat/music on the background, sometimes i like to listen so music where there is no lyrics at all, it's the beat and sound that makes it good for my ears.:)

18. chenxiaoyue_713 (712) | 7 months ago | Hi, regal. I like listening to all kinds of music no matter it is sung in English, Japanese French, etc.. Besides my mother tongue, I like English and Japanese the most because I've been studying them all the time. The lyrics of some English songs are great, such as songs sung by Sarah Connor or Celion Dion. When listening to their songs, I try to learn the lyrics by heart and sometimes even translate them into my native language for fun.

| 19. polly423 (65) | 7 months ago | I listen to a lot of French and Spanish music. I find that the songs are often a lot more relaxing than English ones and the lyrics always sound more beautiful. I've never listened to Korean or Japanese music before but would love to give it a try! I think that as long as you enjoy the music you're listening to, it doesn't really matter what language it's in!

20. jtr115 (689) | 7 months ago | I have online friends from several countries, so I often discover music in other languages when they discuss or play the songs on the Web. The public radio station where I work also has a library of international artists, so I get to hear rock, pop, jazz, Latin and other types of music in many languages. One song I recently heard was "Chacarron Macarron" by Panamanian artist El Chombo. He didn't have the song completely written when he recorded a first draft, so he just mumbled a bunch of gibberish to fill in the gaps. That initial recording was released because several people liked the way the gibberish sounded. It sounds silly, but it's very catchy.
