My MRI results... |
|
I posted a discussion last week about my appointment to get an MRI done of my brain. Many of you responded to it and I just wanted to let everybody know the results. I got a hold of my doctor's nurse on Friday evening and she told me that my MRI was normal. Now, don't get me wrong, I was upset! But, only because I really want to know what is wrong with me and why I have been having pain & numbness in my feet, legs & his for over two years now. It is really frustrating and I just want a diagnosis so I can deal with it and finallyyyy get treatment! I have made a follow-up appointment to see my doctor which is tomorrow afternoon. I guess we will discuss what the next step will be to try to find out what is wrong. Thanks to all of you for your well wishes.
Jill

dawnald (9216) | 5 months ago | Fibromyalgia shouldn't be this difficult to diagnose though. Weird...

BCMike (3312) | 5 months ago | http://www.fibromyalgia-s... looking at this, many of those symptoms are part of a whole host of issues in other diseases.
I think this is why a definative diagnosis is going to be tricky. Yikes.

There are many nerve diseases that can cause these. Be very thankful it's not your brain. Please Pm me and let me know what you find out, I may have some ideas for you.

5. Trace86 (3405) | 5 months ago | It sounds like some sort of peripheral neuropathy. You aren't diabetic, are you? Neuropathy isn't uncommon in diabetic patients. Or a pinched nerve in your spine? I am very glad it isn't MS. I have a few MS patients at work and they seem quite uncomfortable. I will cross my fingers that it is something simple and easy to fix.

8. dawnald (9216) | 5 months ago | As frustrating as that is, at least it didn't turn up some nasty degenerative condition that could be seen on a MRI. But I hope they find an answer for you and that it's something that's not too difficult to treat. Uncertainty is no fun either. Good luck!

9. guybrush (3490) | 5 months ago | I'm very relieved to hear your results were normal, Koala ... but I fully understand your frustration at not having an answer to your symptoms. It must be very frightening. My Dad has suffered from numbness in his legs for several years now, and has had to give up playing golf - but his doctors have no answers for him. They say it's some kind of nerve damage - which isn't much help or comfort to him. I hope your doctor is more thorough and knowledgeable, and you are able to get some useful treatment soon!

10. byfaithonly (6279) | 5 months ago | Oh dear I know what you mean - doesn't matter that the test came back negative, you just want to know what is wrong with you. I went through this last month with horrible back pains I was having, night in the er tons of tests and they sent me home still not knowing anything more than when I went in and still in pain... Went to my doctor next day and same thing. Wasn't until 4 days later a friend stopped over and had another friend with her who happened to be a cyropracter (?spelling). She rubbed her thumb up and down on my spin for a few minutes and the pain of 2 weeks was gone and hasn't returned since - something so simple just a disc slightly out of place she got it back in place and no more pain.
Am hoping your problem will end up being similar wishing you the best dear.
