I almost died

I had a baby in May and I had an epidural, I also decided to get my tubes tied. Right after my daughter was born I was given more meds through my epidural catheter because they said that I would need it since I was getting my tubes tied but it was too much. By the time they got me to the surgery room my hands was going numb, by the time they finished I could barely talk because I was so numb and my blood presure kept dropping too low. I thought I wasn't going to make it, I thank the Lord that I did. Alot of people don't look at all the possibilities when giving birth. Some older people say that death goes around you nine times while giving birth, meaning that there are nine different things that can cause death. I wish you a speedy recorvery and congratulations!

My mother went through something similar to you when she had her first baby. She hemorrhaged and almost died. She lived, but the baby died 3 days later. He had a lot of malformed internal organs and that was about 65 years ago so there was really nothing they could do for him. I missed not having a brother.

I also hemorrhaged after surgery to remove cancerous cells on my cervix. I was 19 years old and quite scared! The surgery went well but, apparently, the stitches were not put in well and some of them tore apart and I hemorrhaged. Actually, I lost too much blood and my heart stopped. Fortunately, I was in the hospital when this happened and they were able to resuscitate me. I had 4 blood transfusions.

I did not have any complications during childbirth, although I was in labor for 22 hours with my first baby, even though he was a tiny 5 pounds 13 ounces. My second baby was breech so he had to be delivered by C-section. I was pregnant a third time, but that one was a tubal pregnancy and my tube ruptured. I almost died then, too. I got peritonitis and had to be infused with antibiotics after the surgery.

I've since had a hysterectomy. With problems with all three of my pregnancies, I didn't want to chance any more!

Take care of yourself! Your baby girl needs her mommy, as well as your toddler and your other child.

OMG!! I can't believe all those things happened to you. I have never had a baby but man I hope that never happens to me. I would feel horrible. I am so sorry that you had to live through that. But hey the good thing is not you have a beautiful baby girl at home with you. So congratulations on the baby. I have had some feelings that I was going to die because I have had a an accident and just looking straight in to the headlights makes you think the worst things in your life. Well i hope you feel better by now. Talk to youlater

I lost 4 liters of blood after my hysterectamie in 2003 doctor doesnt have any clue where it went lol but i was giving blood and released after they put a stent from my kidney to my bladder do to a blockage from a kidney stone:X

Congratulations! How many children does this make? I am glad that you survived your ordeal; you are very fortunate to have had access to treatment even if it was not the best. Good luck with your recovery!

I am unmarried.Fortunately i have not yet faced such a horible condition in my life either.But who knows about feature!Anything may happen.I often think that such occasions may come in my life at any point of time.I can feel how scared you were but be patient.Summon all your courage and face the situation.Think positively.You will soon recover.These things do happen in life.Please don't let them influence you.I pray for your recovery.

I had a etopic pregnancy. Thats when the fertilized egg implants in the felopian tube. I had a pregnancy test appointment the very next day. We didnt have home test back then. I remember i was riding home from work on the city bus. I had been having a slight pain in my side for a few days. I thought i had a pulled muscle. Anyway, just after i got off the bus i felt a real sharp pain. I had to double over at the side of the road for a few minutes. Then got up and walked slowly the 3-4 blocks to my apt. Picking the kids up from the sitter on the way. The pain was really bad by then. Every time i moved or took a deep breath it felt like i had glass splinters in me. I almost didnt go to the hospital but i finally did. My son was at home with me he had to help me get dressed and take hisself and baby sister back to the sitter. I called the ambulence and they used my arm as a pin cushion all the way to the hospital. They couldnt get the IV in me. I was begging them to stop trying. But they said they had to have it in by the time we reached the hospital. Ok, now im at the emergency room. Taken in to be checked. They explained that the tube had burst and i was bleeding internally. The ringing in my ears was my blood pressure dropping. They had to do exploritory surgery. He reassurred me not to worry because i was in the right place. He said if i had stayed home 30 minutes more i would have been dead. Im very thankful for my life. That would have been so horrible if i had died in front of my kids like that.

Yes, I came close to dieing a few times when I was pregnant with my first child...I almost lost him and me. But we were both fighters and survived. I also almost died with my last child and almost lost her in birth. I to started bleeding alot after I gave birth. I am glad you are alright. how is the baby doing?
