Sci Fi Channel Changing To SyFy Channel 7/7/09 - What does this mean?

It means someone crazy must be in charge since neither the word science or the word fiction have a Y in their spelling.

I dont understand why they would do that. Maybe Im to old to understand it,I am not a teenager any more, but why use letters that have nothing to do with it at all. What do they possibly have to gain from this? I like a lot of the shows on the sci fi channel but the commericals are beyond dumb, now it looks like that is the direction of the entire station.

I think the other way of writing the Sci-Fi Channel was better because at least you get an idea of what you are watching. Who will actually understand SyFy?

I have no idea what this means but I heard it somewhere to that they were changing the name wich is pretty stupid if you ask me. But I doubt anything is going to change with this channel it will probally be the same just a different name im guessing.

Even my kids noticed it today when we were watching the stargate movies that they had changed the name of the channel its the first time I had watched the channel in about 2 weeks so hadnt even heard anything. I couldnt believe they had changed it. I liked the way it was, but they always change the good stuff saying it will make it better but it never does make it better.

What is this--no Trekkie would stand for it!! What a sell-out is what I think and can we please stop trying to obliterate the English language completely with these tweets or whatever you call so called 'texting' code--I'm actually an avid texter but feel no need to include three letter 'words' in every sentence and someone should stop this! If anything they'll just brew up some new conspiracy stints for us believers and give us to talk about because---SyFy??? ,

what does that translate into SNYFY--aka "SONY FINANCIAL HLDGS INC! Nothings suprises me, especially in this industry.
