Your welcome... some people just need to learn how to accept other people's decisions without degrading a person, its not nice, and it hurts a lot especially coming from loved ones...

you are absolutely correct.I tried again to explain my near and dear ones that i will stick to my decision of having the guy as my friend.He is my best friend from my school days,you see.All of them are behaving strangely with me now.No matter what,Iam firm and I will not let my friendship dissolve away.I hope every thing becomes all right soon...

This may take some time for them to get use too.. Especially if this is one of the first times that you have really went against what they have said in the past.. It is also very possible that they may never treat you the same.. No worries though.. It is very important for you to take a stand in what you believe in.. You are just being YOURSELF, and that is the best way to go

Thanks a lot buddy.I recently tried talking to all again and this has messed up the whole thing.Since Iam determined not to desert my friend,they have stopped talking to me.This has still made me stronger to stick to my decision.Its a pity,that people just cannot leave away such dogmatic thinking which infact destroys relationship...I hope everything goes good and things get o.k at the end..

well i think they have put you in a very horrible position, that's very selfish of them to do that to you, making you choose, no one should ever put anyone in that position, it just shows you what type of people they are, and the worst thing is, it's your family, so stick to your guns, they have definitely shown their true colours, something that you may not have seen before, but i can imagine what your friend would eel if he knew what you were going through, you cannot choose your family, but you can choose your friends, this lot are being unfair and very very selfish...sorry to say this, i know they are your folks, but i pity them for being so horrible about this, i wonder if they would tell your friend to his face what they thought of him, i bet they wouldn't, why not put them in a position where they have to decide between you and them...tables turn all the time, i admire you for being so strong about this, and i am glad that you have decided to stay friends with this lad, he's done absolutely nothing wrong what so ever. good for you.

Thank you very much for your supportive words.His sexual orientation has never given me a second thought to continue my friendship.Its my near and dear ones Iam concerned about.They are making things tough for me and the path has become steeper and rougher now.Iam an Indian Hindu and I guess more than religion,its the traditional,wrong mentality,that has affected the ones around me..Iam determined not to lose him as my friend,nomatter what..and I hope things get all right soon..
