We heard about the feral Momma today

I wasn't really sure if I should put this under cats, since she is a cat, or horses, since she's at a horse farm. As you may remember, we trapped Momma and her 3 feral kittens, got mom fixed and sent her out to a horse farm. This is one of those places where they put handicapped kids up on horses to give them a chance to be around a big, gentle animal. They had wanted a cat/cats to help control the rodent population and asked us last year, but we didn't have any suitable cats at that time. When we trapped mom we realized that we had the perfect cat for the barn. Well, today the roomie talked to her friend who took her out to the barn to see how she was doing. She says that she is doing great, catching lots of mice and doing real well. They see her, but she doesn't hang around to be friendly, this is about what I expected. So, she's made it a month out at the farm, so it looks good after we get the kittens grown and fixed, they should be good barn cats too So, that's one of my good news for the day!

me too, and sometimes things just work out - they needed a cat, we had a feral that needed to be away from this neighborhood... we had the crazy lady neighbor threatening to kill a cat last night

I'm so glad your cat found a good home, and how kind of you to spay her! If we could just get more folks like you, we wouldn't have so many pathetic and miserable cats running loose and starving.

Ain't that the truth, Dragon! I tell people, that those people that DON'T spay their cats are the reason I have 28 of them!

Good for you and them. They should be happy out there on a farm.

HI Elic: That is great news to hear!! I love those places where handicapped Adults and kids can go ride horses; I think that is so cool! I always wanted to do that out on my Father's Farm but that's a pipe dream that will never happen; but glad to hear about Momma cat and her babies all doing well;

the babies are still here, and I actually got to touch one yesterday! Yeah, we were glad to hear that the little Momma cat is doing well out at the horse farm. I've heard of these places, but them came along after I was pretty much unable to do anything to help out because of my own medical problems.

I swear there has to be a book in here somewhere with all these stories about you and all of these cats! You could publish online and use the money to buy cat food!

Hi Elic, That is a lovely news, lol, we do need good news but it is such a shame the cat is not very friendly, maybe she didn't have that human bond earlier but hey! she is doing a good job there and happy, that is the most important thing. Tamara

yeah, its obvious that she didn't get that bond, and neither did her kittens, so they are as feral as they can be - but she is doing a useful job and they like her, and the kids like to look and see if they can see her working - so its all good!

That sounds great. I am sure keeping the cats around will keep the exrwrminatior bill down. lol.
