Military Action in Honduras

President Obama was critical of the Military in Honduras when they moved in and removed the President. It seems that the current President stated that he was going to serve beyond the end of his term, which was not allowed by the Constitution. Did the Military do wrong or were they doing their sworn duty to defend the Constitution?

I've never heard Obama state any intention to remain in office past his constitutional 2 terms. I think that rumor has been spread about every president since Nixon (and probably all the way back to Truman. What happened in Honduras is not much different than what would happen here if a president refused to vacate after pulling such a boneheaded thing. It might not be a full military offensive like in Hondo, but it would result in the use of deadly force to remove him and his administration.

It was the president of Honduras who said he was going to serve beyond the end of his term. Sorry for the error.

The military acted according to their constitution and at the direction of their congress. In other words, they did the right thing and prevented a coup attempt by the president who attempted to illegally extend his term. 0bozo should keep quiet about things he does not understand... however, if he did then we would never hear from him again.

In this case, the military absolutely did the right thing. What happened is that the executive branch, (the Hondouran President) decided to ignore the constitution. The other two branches (legislative and judicial) ordered (not asked!) the military to defend the constitution by removing the President and allowing the Vice President to take over. This is as it should be. That our President thought this was a "coup" or a military takeover, or an illegal action on the part of the Hondouran military is completely disgusting as it demonstrates on the part of our President a lack of concern for the rule of law or the importance of following a constitution. Only a despot tryant wannabe would back the former Hondouran President. 0bama, by his support of the despot tryant wannabe of Hondouras, has shown his stripes and what a skunk he really is.

Honestly, I don't know much about the politics on Honduras. I have a friend though, who is from Honduras, and he was afraid to go to Colombia or Venezuela, because of political reason, and he was afraid the people will beat him up.
