I would say money is the root of all evil. People believe that with money comes power and some greatness and they will do anything to get it or do anything to get it from someone else. I believe the rich are unhappy and insecure because of all the people who are trying to get their money and they are also trying to get more money. As with poor I dont think it might be worst but then maybe not because you dont have to worry about keeping your money or making more of it. You just pretty much wont worry about anything except probably getting food on the table.

No money is not the root of all evil paula27661, far from it. Money in essence is just an object. It is how human manipulate these objects. Money was created, made and used by man. So how could it be a root of evil.

Goodness and evil is within man itself and should not blame money for it.

Money is a tool just like a Hammer or a Screwdriver. When used properly and in moderation great things happen like you pay your bills go on vacation and normal things like that. I believe when Greed and other perverted thoughts get in the way than strange things happen. Just think about it for a few moments and reflect at writers, musicians, businessmen, and more. The power just goes right to some peoples brain and it intoxicates them. And then excess pushes them over the edge!

it's not really the money that is evil.we all need money to survive.we need money to buy our food,clothes,and shelter.it is the love of money that is evil.these are people consumed by greed.these people will do anything to earn money easily even if they have to hurt people and do bad things.

Money in itself is not bad, it is how you use it that counts. One should always make sure that one has enough to last ones entire lifetime. You should have full control of your money but you should not let money control you, ie, you should not become a slave of money. You should always see that you do not get too attached to money because there is a real danger of greed developing. If you become greedy and miserly then you can be led astray and then land in trouble for the rest of your life.Security means having enough and a little more to see you through your everyday life and your retirement and old age and becoming self sufficient and not depending on others.Money becomes the root of evil when it is used for self aggrandisement and to bring trouble to others, so one should be very careful how one handles money. If one has too much money then it should be used in charity and helping others who are in extreme need because their blessings will help in furthering ones spiritual evolution.

That is what all say - money is the root of all evil. It is the use of the money as money in itself can not be evil as nothing is so in isolation. We all need money to meed our needs and up to this level money is not evil for without the money would not be able to buy a coat for yourself.

Now when you have money more than excess surely you would be prompted by money in the guise of your animal instinct and then all your ills have started showing their heads.

It is understand if a person or a family is driven to commit suicide by extreme poverty, unbearable sorrow or physical ailment. But what makes the famous and affluent do such a disastrous act? In such instances of well to do people who are depressed, unhappy and a general lack of will to live are cited as reasons for their taking such a stringent measure. If these reasons are true, they prove that money, fame and material comforts do not make a person happy. No doubt, money in the absence of right values, can also push us into a purposeless existence. Leading an aimless lie, people drift easily into bad habits and indulge in excesses. Money is the root of all evil if we allow money to be our master and we make ourselves servant of money. Do not therefore let money rule us, we must become the master instead of being a servant.

hi Paula I dont think that money in itself is the root of all evil its just a bit of especially printed paper or metal coins you need in order to get goods in return, be it groceries, books or whatever else.
But the LOVE of money is the root of much evil. Loving ones riches more than people makes one degrade people and use them like things.
If I were rich I sure wont be unhappy cause then there would be no need to commute for 8 freaking hours a day to work freaking 6 hours of said day. It would make me happy to be able to pay the few things we really need, like rent and food, from a nicely filled bank account knowing that there will sure be enough left for another year and another and still another when I dont squander that cash and use it wisely.

I think it is better to be rich and insecure and unhappy than poor and insecure and unhappy. Being rich you have a much better chance of recovery.

I believe it is.
It reduces mankind to envious, avaricious, morally corrupt, criminal behaviour.
But then, I'm old and poor! LOL
