Palin Will NOT Attend Reagan Library Event |
|
Sorry, guys, I guess my Palin obsession is really in high gear today. It must be the gloomy, rainy weather here bringing out the worst in me...lol! Just kidding, but I recall that as soon as Palin had announced that she'd be stepping down as Governor of Alaska it was posted here that she'd be speaking at this huge conservative event at the Reagan Library in California. Reportedly tickets were selling "like hotcakes" or whatever they said. However, read this from the link provided below the excerpt:
It's been written about as a given, and a logical step for Palin: A speech at the Reagan library. But Jonathan Martin suggested recently it wasn't a sure thing, and sure enough, the latest statement pops up on Palin's Facebook page:
As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Women’s event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governor’s state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor's name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon. All event requests must be confirmed with Meghan Stapleton of SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governor’s name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.
Thank you. Meghan Stapleton

I'm not sure if she really didn't ever intend to speak at this even or if she backed out for some reason. Maybe they even "disinvited" her, who knows! Could it have something to do with this new NBC/WSJ poll which shows a whopping 67% - that's tewo-thirds - of all Americans don't want her EVER to be President?

Also, what do you think about Palin's alleged interest in taking on Rush Limbaugh and other right-wing radio hosts? I understand Clear Channel has already said "Thanks but no thanks..."

1. Rollo1 (1613) | 5 months ago | You really got it bad, Annie. I get updates from her Facebook page and I didn't give this a second glance. It's of little importance whether she speaks at a conference or not, isn't it? If she had to ask them to take her name off the invitation then it's unlikely they disinvited her.
I am sure that many people at the event aren't anyone's presidential picks, so that has little to do with it.
If she wants to go on the radio, so be it. But so far it's not happening according to her Facebook page:
"Radio might be in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s plans, but her attorney says a decision hasn’t been made. Robert Barnett disputes reports members of Palin's team have been testing the waters to gauge syndicators’ interest.
Barnett says, “Many individuals and entities have expressed strong interest in Governor Palin. To date, she has not spoken with any of them, negotiated with any of them or made deals with any of them.”
Industry sources told Inside Radio this week people representing the 2008 Republican Vice Presidential candidate were making informal, preliminary overtures to radio networks. But Barnett insists no such talks have begun. "All of that is in the future," he says."
If you really want to keep up with Sarah, you can join her Facebook page here:

It was very exciting there a few weeks ago when it was still being spammed by haters. They really had fun for a while spewing foul language and acting moronic, but that's all sort of died down now. They don't butt in and leave nasty comments as much as they used to. Guess the fun went out of it for them and they went off to pull the wings off some flies or something.
But, if you join you'll get these updates all the time, right from Palin and you won't have to wait for the mainstream media or some blog to skew it, I mean report on it.

2. spalladino (9040) | 5 months ago | My opinion...saying that she will be speaking at the Simi Valley Republican Women’s event at the Reagan Library sounded good while Palin was still in office but, now that she's out, maybe campaigning for all those good Republicans has lost it's charm when compared to other income producing ventures. After all SaraPAC can continue to raise money while she does other things...like a book tour. I didn't know about the radio gig...I can't imagine that being a success considering that she normally talks in circles.

That's what it sounded like right here.

3. ZephyrSun (3502) | 5 months ago | I wonder how many people bought tickets to this event thinking that Palin would be there, I mean we have several people here that I think would travel to California to see her speak. If I "loved" her and thought she was going to be there and wasn't I would want a refund. But, I'm really puzzled about that whole approved by attorney thing. WTF is that about?
I wouldn't listen to Palin or Rush so I hope that they put her on AM if she has be on the radio.

Taskr36 (4628) | 5 months ago | I think it's just a matter of people assuming she'll be places when she won't It makes perfect sense for her to say such things must be officially approved either through her spokesperson or lawyer. If these people were told by whomever was selling the tickets that she would be there then yes, they should demand their money back. If they just assumed it or read it on a blog, that's their problem.

5. crysontherocks77 (534) | 5 months ago | I think that its a given that palin has put off some govenor duties where as she isn't govenor of alaska anymore. I think that a lot of people were very proud of her standing up and taking her place like she did with the elections but after the first debate she had with the other vps there was just not many people convinced that she could handle the job and the criticism that comes with the job. Palin got a lot of grief because of her daughter having a baby and being under age 18. The fact that she was standing up and saying that she was not going to let a baby die because her daughter was with a guy. A mother knows a lot more of what to do in a situation than most would give her credit for. I admired her for stepping up to the plate. I liked Hillary Clinton and voted for Obama just because I didn't want a republican president back in office. I strongly disagreed with both sides but felt one had better handle over americas situation than the other did. I think Palin might have felt that she would have to many unanswered questions and so to cover her a******** she decided that it wouldn't be agood idea. Sometimes a woman has to protect herself and her family and the job that she does before answering to the media. Her family and other concerns were her top priority according to what you are sayin.
