Hi people,
Very good morning and good evening to some others too..LOL. Do you like sales person to come to your house? Will you allow him/her to demonstrate the products which they sale?
In my city, most of the people never allow sales person even to talk about his product. They made them to stand outsite the gate and ask them to leave.
Have you ever allowed a sales person to demonstrate his product which you like? Will you believe in them. They may look like strangers, theives. So some of us never allow them. How is your experience on this? Through your view on this. Happy Mylotting... Cheers..

I never encountered sales man knocking at our door and if by chance? I won't allow him/her either, I don't easily trust strangers. Sometimes burglars pretend as a sales man, surveyor and etc. to get some personal information from the homeowner(potential victim). Burglars are afraid to enter homes they think are occupied because they want easily targets, not an encounter with a potentially armed homeowner.

I am the same way. So far I haven't had anyone knock on my door lately to try to sell me something. If I'm not expecting someone, or I don't know the person at the door, I won't even open the door. It's not like the old days when the Fuller brush lady came to your house once a week.

These days the crime rates are at an all time high.Too many conman pretending to be what they are not. That being said, it is not always the wisest thing to entertain a salesman, as its not easy to know if the person is honestly a salesman or not.Even IDs may be fake. There have been such cases I know of personally, so I am a little cautious.
But then its not that I always say No to a salesman. It depends. If I am alone at home,I am likely to tell them that I am not interested. If family is home and if the product seems interesting or I have been looking for such a product for a while, then I let them demonstrate the product, only after I check the ID first.
I hope I don't sound too paranoid,
but safety is important, don't you agree?

I have let some sales people in but they were people that I know and I know they get credit for the demonstrations. They did not just knock on my door but would come at an arranged time. I don't let salespeople that I don't know in my home at all. I have heard stories and I've had a couple of sketchy situations in just talking to them thru the door. I just won't do it. Beyond all that, I don't like being disturbed by people trying to sell me something. If I want or need something...I'll go to the store. It is somewhat an invasion of privacy. I do have to admit that when it comes to little kids, I will donate or buy whatever they are selling. I wish they were given more choices as in how to do their fundraisers as I don't think it is safe for them to be just knocking on doors either. Some have adults with them but often they don't.

it depends. if i am so free, so boring, then the sales man is in luck, i will allow them to come in to do their demonstration or talk. but i never trust them. just listen what they have.

I'm never interested in the products brought by my place of residence from a salesman. I would feel better telling them straight up.. "HEY, I'm gonna be honest with you. I appreciate your selling candor, but I'm not going to buy this item nor am I interested or will be interested any time soon. I do thank you for stopping by and considering me for your product". Usually I'm not in the market for the item!
That's not mean is it? LoL

Well many a times I have allowed sales persons to display their products, this is how I bought my filter, it usually depends on what time the person has come, if it is a holiday and I am not much busy then I do allow if his/her product is of interest.

Well that's a very good question. But It depends on whether they are showing things that I've already purchased or not.Whether they are arrogant or polite .Or they are good at selling skills.
I personally don't mind if they are ready to demonstrate a good selling or at least a quality product with good price tag and unavailable in the market.
Happy mylotting!

Thats absolutely true. Recently I too had seen a demonstration for an electric stove. Its a good product. But the price was little bit costly. So left it. Thanks for sharing your views. Have a nice weekend. Happy Mylotting..

Luckily I have never experience this. I am easy to trust others. I gave money to the woman who pressed my bell and said it was for the cancer charity. I also brought two chocolates from two boys whose standing with her too (XD). They said they were not at the same group, but I didn't know why they came together.
I love online-shopping because I don't need to walk out of the door. So I think I am glad to let them demonstrate their products too. But if it really looks good and "bargainable", I think I will buy it with no doubt. For this reason, my girlfriend always said I am stupid. HaHa!!
Enjoy myLotting=]

When I am alone I don't allow sales guys to demonstrate...I just tell them that I'm not interested in their product whatever it may be....
When my hus is with me..then its my hus's problem to attend to them...I generally don't listen to them..
