agv0419 (2299) | 5 months ago | Aircon is very expensive and it can consumed so much electricity. I also here in the Philippines we also use electric fan because we can't afford to buy aircon. Only rich people can afford it. Now that the electricity here in the Philippines is expensive I think using aircon is not practical for ordinary people like us. Now that it is raining I like it very much because I can sleeps better. During summer season it's very difficult to sleep because it is very hot.

brienn (405) | 5 months ago | Good day yolanda19191,
So we are both from Asia. Good to here this.

|
|
yolanda19191 (727) | 5 months ago | luckily, seems here the air-condition is more common than before. we are not rich either, but my friends and some relatives are using it when very hot. dont worry, the a/c will be cheaper and cheaper, and later most people can use it.

brienn (405) | 5 months ago | Good day agv0419,
You are absolutely right, it is not practical for us to use an air conditioner, because the electricity here in our country are pretty much higher than the other country.

|
|
brienn (405) | 5 months ago | I know it will be more cheaper, cause most of the appliances now a days become cheaper. Can't wait for that, so that I can buy myself one.

neelianoscet (2038) | 5 months ago | I used aircon when we have a lot of visitors in the house. Now, their are only three people in my house..all of them have their own electric fan. This is the way to cool down at the same time saving in electrical bills...

|
|
brienn (405) | 5 months ago | I think it makes your visitors stay at your house more comfortable, because you turn on your air con when they arrived.

5. ayukawasouhiko (247) | 5 months ago | hi, in my mother country china, my home has two air cons, but my parent don't always use air con, their body is not good enough to endure cold of air con very long, and they don't like living without fresh air and ventilation, so only i have use the air cons.(laugh)
In Japan, a lot of companies set the temperature of air con to 22? below, because japanese salaryman must put in suit all the year round, in summeray you can see many men wear suits walking on the rpad, 22? is extreme cold, companies spread cold air out to make outer air cool, so people on the road feel cool, however, in my company i feel too cold, finally my body gets uncomfortable and my leg gets weak, i don't want to sit inside extreme cold air.
Seem we people of East Asia who are used to live in warm zone can't only endure high-temperature but endure pole cold,so we are rather rich and buy a large number of air cons, but it costs the price that is we cost too much electricity fee,the result is dangerous for our using electricity is stopped somertime, and air cons pollute the aerosphere
sweet.... just i feel i become an environmentalist. (laugh)

8. srganesh (3372) | 5 months ago | We call that electric fan as table fan in our country,India. There is ceiling fans and we should not confuse with it.Yes!We too use table fans in summers while sleeping. While a ceiling fan circulates the air inside the room, the table fan can be kept near the window to get the cool air from outside.Cheers!

10. photobug (134) | 5 months ago | I have air conditioning, but I also have fans. I use fans unless it's extra hot and humid. I think ceiling fans work the best, and a window fan is good if there is cool air outside. Often the inside of the house is hotter than outdoors because of where the windows are placed. My bedroom has one window and is the hottest room in the house. The living room and kitchen area has windows across from each other, so a cross-breeze can come through. I have some special window blinds to keep the hot sun from coming in during the day. A long time ago in an older house, I hung up blankets.
One time my air conditioner broke and I couldn't afford to fix it that summer. In order to sleep, I placed a fan on a table at the foot of the bed. I had frozen some water in plastic gallon containers during the day, and at night I placed the container about 8" in front of the fan. The air from the fan was a little cooler because if was blowing across a cold surface. If you have more than one fan and more containers to freeze water in, you'll be even cooler. I usually woke up once because I became hot when the ice melted. I went to the freezer to get another gallon of ice water and replaced the melted one.
Another trick is to use a spray bottle, fill it with water and spray the sheet you cover up with. The coolness doesn't last long, but it helps. During the day, I wet a towel and wrap it around my neck to keep cool. Putting your feet in a tub of cold water helps, too.
