What is the best process f or reaching frugality? | | I am trying my hardest to cut back on things, even trying to go back to the basics of cooking and not buying much pre-packaged items at all, but I am totally stumped. I need some advice on howt o start and the process to help me to weed out some of the things that are more expensive. Mind you, I am not one to spend much on any one thing to begin with. I am sitting here trying to figure out how to get myself in the groove of being more frugal. I am not sure I am getting my question across to well, but if you have any frugal advice I will listen. God bless you and thanks for reading.

mamacathie (1509) | 5 months ago | So you think the dollar store is cheaper than wal-mart? I have shopped at the dollar store a few times when I just need an item or two and don't want to wrestle with the Wal-Mart crowd. I really didn't realize they were cheaper than Wal-Mart. Thanksf or the suggestion and I will be checking it out! God bless you!

After you've done this for a few days or weeks, you'll be able to see where you're spending unnecessarily AND you'll be much more aware of when you're spending money.
Set up a price book. A price book is a list of things that you use most often, along with the price you paid and where you bought it. When you're shopping, just one look can show you whether you should buy the item there or go to another store for it. It can also show you whether a sale is really a sale.
Set up a budget. When you go shopping, take only the money you've budgeted for the week or month. Nothing else, no checkbook, no credit card. If you spend all of the money, there is no more until next week or month.
Read everything you can about living frugally, saving money, stretching dollars. The more you read, the more ways to save will occur to you. You won't be able to use everything you read, but you'll find yourself using more and more.
