What is the best process f or reaching frugality?

Try shopping at the dollar store. You can get things like toliet paper, paper towels, napkins, paper plates, cleaning and laundry supplies, and items such as that there. It saves you more money in the end. Just don't buy food there.

do or do without. very simple.grow your ownfood if you can,grow
veggetables and fruit, use them, dont buy new clothes until you really need them. dont buy that new electronic gadjet, put off the vacation to the bahamas, dont buy what you dont really need, wear things out, use things u p, make things last or simply just go without.the economy will get better but we dont know when and do you really need two dvd players or the latest electronic game, can you do without then do so.can you wear it out,do that,can you make it do,do that, can you safely do without, then do it.

The best place to start is to track your spending. This means writing down everything you spend, even if it's only a quarter for a newspaper. After you've done this for a few days or weeks, you'll be able to see where you're spending unnecessarily AND you'll be much more aware of when you're spending money.

Set up a price book. A price book is a list of things that you use most often, along with the price you paid and where you bought it. When you're shopping, just one look can show you whether you should buy the item there or go to another store for it. It can also show you whether a sale is really a sale.

Set up a budget. When you go shopping, take only the money you've budgeted for the week or month. Nothing else, no checkbook, no credit card. If you spend all of the money, there is no more until next week or month.

Read everything you can about living frugally, saving money, stretching dollars. The more you read, the more ways to save will occur to you. You won't be able to use everything you read, but you'll find yourself using more and more.

plan your meals ahead of time and shop accordingly. shop at thrift stores, visit your local library for books, movies and cds. never use a credit card, only cash. there are lots of ideas out there!
