I believe that music need to be taught to children. When you are still young and could not read yet. We only been taught by our parents basic words, short sentences and music. then, we hum and dance to it. Music for me, teach about life, it influences feelings and our attitudes.. How about you? Do you taught children to learn music? Are you the first who taught your children about music or you let them learn from schools?

I think it's a good idea to expose children to music.. it helps their brain grow and expand as they learn the tune, melody, lyrics. Music is also useful in physical education classes... the children can dance along to their favorite tunes.

Hi
Every child likes music and they are trying to sing songs in the younger stage. They are really enjoying music. Regarding the teaching of music, I think each parents are trying to teach some lyrics when the kids started to talk. It is really wonderful when they sing songs with their own pronunciations. In school also, starting from the play school, they are giving importance to teach songs. In higher classes also there is a period for music. In my opinion we should teach music to the children.

Yes I agree children should learn how to sing and how to appreciate music. It helps to develop their brain, emotion and their vocabulary. During my childhood I can't remember if my mother taught me how to sing nursery rhymes. What I can remember when our teacher in kindergarten teaches us how to dance and sing. Music should be included in the subjects of the children so they would not be boring and motivate them that studying is fun.

Dear friend,
In one of my topic here I do have suggested of making humour and jokes as subject in school I hope that have not yet made. Anyhow during my school days we have a period for music and it was a subject for us till my 8th grade. I am sure music have lots to contribute to children and also especially to those who really have talent in it. It could give wonders to those who feel comfortable and enjoy music.

Hello neelianoscet! I do agree with you that children should be exposed to music at an early age. The sound of music soothes and calms children when they are fussy. I know this from my own experience because my baby gets frustrated and angry a lot and I sometimes can't seem to calm her so I began sing her a little song and if that doesn't calm her I turn on some music and she gets quiet.

Yes I believe there is strong need for children to be taught music because a lot of people don't realize how big of an impact music has on our everyday lives. Think about a long car ride without any music, or excercising without any music, or just about anything that would be boring without something to entertain you while you are doing it. Music also helps to make us think better because when you listen to music your mind is trying to take in the rhythm and what every separate instrument is doing throughout the song. A lot of music is emotions and experiences throughout the musicians life thrown into a piece of art and that is why music should be taught.

Living life without music could makes this life really dull and boring. music really inspires and have effects on the mind of the listeners. And, children need to be taught music at earlier stages, not only nursery rhymes but as well as the classical and modern song. Also, I observe children moods is also affected by music, lively tunes makes a child more playful, happy and love more fun. Whereas when their is no music it is really hard to make a babies or children to sleep without lullabies or slow tunes music..

Music has a strange power over mind. Each note of the song requires some amount of co-ordination in the brain, which if used in therapies would keep mind away from unpleasant thoughts. Unfortunately it can also be used for opposite effect. In general however, music to me is like that last fairy of sleeping beauty that mitigates the effect of any sorrow or hardships in life. It is not necessary to learn it to participate and win any realty shows, it is not necessary to learn it to be ahead of the rest in class. It is necessary to learn it so that it helps to tide over tough times. This is my opinion.

Music signifies life. All topics about life are being made into lyrics and then turn into music which could inspire a person, or makes him acts slow, or fast, sad and joy. Different music writers and the artist unites to bring good music which imitates and signified life at it's peak. What really good about music its works like a miracles and leave a lasting marks on every the listeners mind making them to vocalize or hum every times they heard their favorites music.

My children heard music from me while they were still in my womb. They were born to hear rhythm and rhyme and melody and harmony. At night I would sing and read to them and rock them. Music is in their souls. Music and math concepts are in the same areas of the brain. I think it is also important to learn music in school, it enriches the environment and provides learning bridges to other subjects. School is a good place for formal instruction in music, but children need it in their life long before they go to school.

Early education begin at homes and mothers are the first teacher of every child. With this the bonding of love between mother and children develop. As the first teachers, aside from music, good values and others talents for being inquisitive develop which are very crucial. The theory of learning music enhances brain activity as you mention also correlates to learning math may be very useful as the child entire formal education and yearn to learn more music as its best.

I grew up in a home with my parents and they liked to listen to music. I do the same thing with my daughter also. We never did learn how to play music though. I always wanted to learn to play the bass guitar or drums in school but never got to.

Music is a good things to teach to children as it encourages them to nurture their vocal chords to hone their musicals abilities. It is a good source of bonding for each family and a form of entertainment. It is a good habit to be focus and enables the child to take it as a source of fun rather than making them to join other activities which may be a bad influences from peers.

The feelings that your children are highly appreciated also deserves a lot of thanks and praises for your own efforts in helping them to reach where they are now..kudos!

Do you know I learned to sing first than to read. My first books was music lyrics. I learned english my the songs i hear in the radio. I agree that children have to learned about music. Music is feelings. If we are happy we can sing happy songs and if we are lonely sad songs. Those in the field of music for me are intelligent person, I don't know the explanation but for me they look smarter than me. Music is talent too, I am fortunate that I can sing.

If a child shows an interest in music or a particular instrument, I think it is an excellent gift if his/her parents sent the child for music lessons, to learn how to play and read music. It is a wonderful gift to have later in life, as I have discovered.

I think music is so important for children. When the children were still in their moms' wombs, some parents already play music for them. They think it will make the babies smarter. I also heard that the children who learn to play piano will be good at maths.
I love China

Not only children but most people learn faster with music. Learning about music can be acquired. Like you said, even when we have not learned to read yet, we already recognize sounds/music and we manifest this by humming or bumping with the beats. It is not really a need but if the child takes interest in music then Im not gonna stop him/her from learning about it. If he/she asks to take lessons then I will fully support it. It is also one of my frustrations like I have mentioned. I know some of the basics so Ill try to teach my kids all that I know, and when they're ready to learn more then Ill let them take the music classes that they'd like.

hi I think theres a great need for childrentoday to be
taught music.my son had a record player when he was little and learned to play all genres of music from beatles to mozart.
he had music teaching in school plus math and all the ordinary
subjects. But today many schools are opting to do away with
music, and acting, and gym classes just to save money .this'
is so sad. they need these three subjects. they learn so much fdrom each one of these, specially music and art, they Also need exercise'
and gym classes give them that.I hope the schools change their minds about these classes.

Music inspire and symbolizes life. music classes could only be access by children through enrolling in a private classes but some schools have music subjects but children could only learn slightly a their is a lack of hand on especially on the use of musicals instruments which could be greatly appreciated if children have access on them.
