Iriene88 (1176) | 4 months ago | Dear cooldude_no1,
I too are post paid user. I heard from my second sister that every now and then she need to top up her prepaid until she always have extra unused credit. It is quite a hassle that if she did not top it up, she could not make outgoing call but she still can receive calls.
My Maxis post paid line sometimes have good promotion too. If I take up a certain promotion, assuming a minimum of RM150.00 per month, they will give a free handphone but must subsribe a specific period of time.
Thanks for sharing, all the best!

2. spalladino (8989) | 4 months ago | I have used Nextel as my cell phone provider for many years...never pre-paid. I originally chose Nextel for it's 2-way option, which I still find very convenient. I probably use my cell phone more than I use a landline phone because I'm regularly at different places throughout the day...at home...at our business...or on the road...and it's easier for people to reach me if they just call my cell.

3. submerryn (709) | 4 months ago | Hi there Iriene88,
I guess today, nobody can live without a cellphone. I use a pre-paid account. Why? Because I dont call out much. I am a stay at home mother so basically I am always at home. I dont need to call out much and even if I do, I use the fixed line. And many people call me on my fixed line too. My cellphone is only handy during the weekends when I go out. I use Maxis. It rocks as it gives me many freebies. I call them handphones. But in myLot, I call it cell phone as it sounds more universal?

4. thea09 (4288) | 4 months ago | Hi Iriene, here a mobile phone is called a 'kinito' which comes from the word movement. Everyone seems to have one and they are in constant use, especially when driving. I buy a card from the supermarket with nine euros credit and the nice man puts it in for me as I am useless at anything like that. The card is from a company called Cosmote. They don't work very well though, to get a reception from the house I have to hang over the balcony as far as I can and if it's winter and the shutters are shut there is no reception at all. I only use it from the house when there's a power cut and the landline goes down.

7. jonjee0203 (1648) | 4 months ago | Definitely. I will use the postpaid. Prepaid is only good for those who make calls all the time.In Malaysia there are a few providers. Mine is Maxis. We called it here a hand-phone and we called texting SMS. THat is the short form of short message service. I do not know what other countries called these. In America, it is called texting and the phone is referred to as a cell-phone.

jonjee0203 (1648) | 4 months ago | Prepaid is also good for those to receive calls all the time. Artisans like plumbers and subcontractors have prepaid so that even though their credit has run out, the period has not and he can still receive calls. For me, I use postpaid because my daughter need only to pay a RM10 ringgit monthly subscription. Also calls between us as well as well as sms are very low cost. The bills are not really too high. when she started on prepaid, it always finishes quickly and we have to buy top-up cards ever so often that we think apart from the cost, it was the hassle to keep on reloading the credits.

8. kaiwah (106) | 4 months ago | I am using postpaid as I don't fancy the need to top up my pre-paid everytime the credit has been used up. It is kind of convenience to use the postpaid. I normally use my mobile phone for calling and receiving calls from friends and colleagues. It is more mobile as compared to the fix line.

9. CMTS_87 (884) | 4 months ago | I have a prepaid line but I do also have a postpaid line. And my mobile provider is Globe Telecom - I'm from the Philippines by the way!
Here in the Philippines, having two mobile phones is a usual thing. Actually, some have more!
We are not the "texting capital of the world" for nothing! Hehe!
Happy MyLotting!

agv0419 (2150) | 4 months ago | I also prefer to use prepaid because sometimes postpaid has a limit and it is fixed rate. I don't text and call that much so that's why I use prepaid. I'm SMART and GLOBE subscribers. I'm observed here in the Philippines postpaid users are very few Filipinos often use prepaid because it is cheap and readily available. I'm have E-loading business so that's why I know, Filipinos still prefer to use prepaid.

Iriene88 (1176) | 4 months ago | Dear Warren,
You prepaid provider is called SMART but you are not satisfied with it! May I know why you said so, is it they bar you from calling out or any other issues?
In my sister's case, it is not that her credit finish, but because the time expired..she need to top up, if not she can't call out...it is really a hassle.
Thanks for sharing and do keep in touch!
