Smart kitty! |
|
Oreo is a smart kitty. How do they know she's smart? Well, she's earned an online high school diploma. Well, she did have some help from her human, after all, kitty paws aren't exactly designed for keyboards, but she still did it.

of course, all this really proves is what a SCAM these online educations are!

3. dragon54u (9445) | 4 months ago | When I was in my younger I got a divinity degree from some stupid site, thinking I could make some extra money marrying people. Then I got to thinking just how sacrilegious that was and how it was cheating couples of a truly holy ceremony. I never used that "degree".
Oreo is really a beautiful cat!

4. mentalward (4217) | 4 months ago | I read that article, too. I'm glad to hear that someone had the forethought (and forepaws) to blast these scammers out of the water!
I got so fed up with all these new "schools" popping up that I thought about starting my own school: University of Mental Ward. I just wanted to see how many would ask for additional information. Glad I didn't do it because I'd probably be inundated with questions by all kinds of weirdos! LOL
I wonder if Oreo is going to go on to college now that she has her high school diploma?

mentalward (4217) | 4 months ago | Ah, thanks, blackbriar. I had forgotten.
The thing to find out is whether or not these schools are accredited. Some are not scams and are accredited. The online colleges should also be accredited so the credits you earn with them can be transferred to any other college/university, should you wish to continue you education further.

5. blackbriar (6191) | 4 months ago | Not all online educations are scams, Elic. I know someone who studied to be a vet tech. online and she's now making excellent money at a local veterinarian's office. She's the one I'm always calling if something is wrong with one of my furbabies. Sad that some people do this crap just to earn a quick buck.

blackbriar (6191) | 4 months ago | I know there are a lot of legit online classes. What I didn't know was that there are some that are scams. This is the first time I've heard about it. Your right, cheaper to attend online classes than the brick and mortar ones.

ElicBxn (15097) | 4 months ago | I know some are real, but I'd trust the college ones sooner than the "high school" ones - and I'm glad she's doing well but I'd bet she did some "hands on" work too on her degree

8. Hatley (20328) | 4 months ago | hi yep Oreo is a smart kitty and so was her master.as 'you said it proves what a scam these online educations are. also beware these poetry contests where they tellyou can win big prizes. okay we sent in a poem that in anyones 'eyes would have received a big f for failure, it was really atrocious.well we were notified we had won a prize but in order to get it we had to pay somewhere in the'neighborhoos of one thousand dollars to go to boston to the academy of poetry to recieve our plaque, our loving cup, and our award for the best blah blah blah,oh yes with that sum we also had our poem printed in an anthology of poems. Needless to say we did not pay to get our p rizes or to go to Boston to be awarded best of something in front of a zillion people. How stupid do thes idiots think people are? If I won a prize I would expect money for it,not to have to pay for it. duh.

10. psycospaz (199) | 4 months ago | I tried to use this article to persuade my finance into letting me have a kitty of my own. To his defense, all the cats he have ever met have belonged to very dirty people who didn't properly take care of themselves let alone the cat.
Anyway I tried to persuade him that the cat would be able to pay for her own food and board after she found her job.
He didn't buy it. And then he started questioning my $75000 college tuition that I am paying to get my BA in Advertising from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh- Online Division. ... He said that I'd be no better than the cat because my diploma came from the internet!
I too would love to read Oreo's essay.

psycospaz (199) | 4 months ago | LOL I couldn't get rid of him!! And yes he has a lot of bux LOL! I also know why he doesn't want me to get a pet right now. Our apartment complex is really expensive when it comes to pets and if they catch you have to pay like a $200 fine, on top of the monthly pet fee of $60. And I am not paying $60 a month to my crappy apartments, when they still haven't fixed my kitchen counter that is slowly falling down!
