If they are legally entitled to the money they should receive it. I am not keen on the idea, but the law is the law. Depriving an inmate of his or her just rewards is criminal in itself and will relegate one to the same level as the person who is incarcerated. If they can be awared lottery winnings, they should be allowed to received valid and qualifying stimulus checks. So sad, but true; who says crime doesn't pay...LOL!

Ok, then the states should bill them $250 for "room and board".

They should actually be taxed more than that Ted. Free room and board is worth quite a bit of money. That should be treated the same way as Tom Daschle's complimentary driver and be taxed accordingly. I'd be curious to see how much they would end up owing based purely on the tax rate or such "gifts".

roberten....I don't agree with them receiving lottery winnings. If you look at being in jail as the equivalent of a child's time out...NO PRIVILEGES should be allowed. Food, air to breathe and a roof over their head is the adult version of time out. I'd be kind and allow for some mental stimulation...such as books or music, exercise for the body as well...but that is about it.
I JUST KNEW THERE'D BE SOMEONE WHO THOUGHT IT WAS OK.

I wonder what the amounts of the checks were and where they are incarcerated.

centrelink, is a government agency. that takes care of payments, like for the unemployed, single parents etc. it's a pain in the butt to put it mildly, basically they want to everything including when you go to the toilet (that's the way we describe it) if you tell the truth about your income when your on a payment you have to pay the money back or in some case its court and jail.

So...Austrailia also got stimulus money from their government? I didn't know that.
I guess the banking elite got their hooks in countries all over the world?
PRINT MORE MONEY...that will help.
watch Zeitgeist/Addendum. It will open your eyes.

I'm confused, who do you have to tell such personal things to? And why?

For me the only thing that came to mind is one reason why a prison inmate may should have or need such a check is to help support their children and / or family, but shouldn't said check go towards wife or mother, or husband or father?
Idk... Then again, do prisoners pay child support in jail? IDK

Thank you for taking the time to go to my disscussions and try to answer them...lol.
And Yes, their child support still accumulates while they are in jail....I agree, send it to their children or even their aged mother....

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WHO WILL RESPOND IN AGREEMENT ON THIS IS THERE?
