Well It's That Time Of Month Again...

...time to pay the damn bills. What did you think I was taking about? At midnight my disability payment hit my bank account, so I thought I'd better catch up on a few bills I put off last month, because something else came up. The bills were for the house phone, and my cellphone, the latter of which I over-used BIG TIME last month, because of a trip I took down to the USA, and the number of roaming calls I had to make, and texts I had to send, to let my friends who were going to pick me up, and my husband at home, know that the bus was DELATED and that I'd be late getting there. Anyway, I picked up my cellphone and called the cellphone company, and then called the housephone company (same company, different numbers) but the house phone wouldn't let me answer the questions I needed from the cellphone, because I wasn't on THEE PHONE associated with that number. So I had to go out into the living room to find my cordless phone, and next thing I knew i was juggling them both, and getting money from my bank account to my pre-paid Master card. I could have paid it directly, but I wanted the airmiles. the stupid housephone argued with me, so I just paid it directly, but I was determined to get SOME airmiles from my cellphone, so that I did on my credit card, as it was easy enough for me. What really drove me nuts was, as clear as I was, and as quiet as the room I was sitting in was, I could not get the effing computer to understand my commands. I'm telling you, I was really yelling at the sucker (replace the s with the 6th letter of the alphabet, and you'll know what I REALLY called it), to get it to try and understand me. I never yell at humans, but computers are fair game. All this was so someone woudln't hack into my account and...PAY MY BILL? $HIT!! If someone wants to hack into my account and pay it off for me, I'm not going to complain. LOL So when all was said and done, I glanced up at my myLot balance as I was contemplating starting this discussion, and noticed an extra $0.50. YAY!!! I made $0.50 when someone approved a task I did earlier. It's a sure sign of the lousy ecconomy when someone gets all friggen excited about $0.50 cents. haha So, people. Tell me about your experiences with that lousy feeling of "there it was, gone" when you get paid, and the bills eat up the money before you can. LOL Anyone tearing their hair out yet? Anyone else hate arguing with the damn computers?

Same here. It is now the end of the month for us. all of the bills for August got paid, thank God. It is now time for me to start paying the bills for the month of September. I hate working seven days per week and giving most of the money to the dang bill collectors. I am excited to receive any kind of money online also.

You and I are among the two 10 users on MyLot, I hope you know. http://www.mylot.com/w/topusers/1.aspx You're actually the second most productive person on the site, if you look at the link. I'm around 8 or 9, but moving up, up, up. It just goes to show how much we need and appreciate the extra spending money. I'm only on disability and it pi$$es me off the way my money goes down the toilet. It must be even worse for someone who works like you do. And when I heard abut Hurricane Bill down in the USA, the first thing I thought was "we're being billed for hurricanes now?" LOL Whose sick idea was it to name a hurrican BILL? LOL

Well I don't really argue with my computer because it's not even working. But yeah I want to tear my hair out with all these problems. It get's so frustrating sometimes that I don't even think I see a light at the end of the tunnel. But right now my mother is not really working and is on welfare so I try to help her out as much as possible with the light bill and in case she needs money for something. At the same time I am also paying off credit cards so that I can close them down and also paying my cellphone. Not mind you that it's not easy considering that I only work 20 hours a week and I need money for the metrocard as well. And now that school is starting I need to start buying my college textbooks and things are just going to get crazy for the first month or so. But hopefully after that it gets better. Things are hard for everyone right now and what's keeping me going and not tearing my hair out is knowing that I should be thankful for what I do have right now because there are people out there who have it worse than I do and don't have jobs. Have a great day! ^_^

Oh I forgot to add that everytime I get a payment whether it be $.10 or $1.00 I do get excited because it's money that can help me out when I really need it. There are times where I'm left with barely any money to take the train with and that extra change does come in handy at times.

I don't pay the bills. I only go online to check my bank balance and make sure it is in sync with my cheque book. My husband pays the bills by phone. I am totally financially frustrated because we just did the kids' back-to-school shopping (for the second time). I have a $2,000+ MasterCard bill sitting here that needs to be paid ($1500 in car repairs didn't help) and next month's bill will have all the clothes shopping we did... I'm estimating that bill will be about $500. Of course I need to put gas in my van; it's almost empty. I was going to write this on paper but I was depressed enough so I avoided doing it but the upcoming expenses are making me very depressed. Just found out indoor soccer for the girls this winter is $220 each (kind of less than last year because last year they did it in two $140 sessions). My daughter needs to take driving lessons for insurance purposes before her G1 expires next April ($400), her Black Belt ($500), braces for my younger daughter (the insurance pays maximum $2,000; with my older daughter we had to pay an additional $3,000 but did it on a monthly $170 payment plan). I've been able to keep the grocery bill low the last couple of weeks becuase my husband was away (now we know who drinks all the juice and milk!) but back-to-school drinks and snacks will be on the next grocery bill. I have no income except I'm back on the Child Tax Credit wagon again ($140 a month). I was unable to get my disability back when I fought for it. My husband's paycheque disappears in a heartbeat. His bank account is in the overdraft and our line of credit is piling up. I know our house will be paid off next June and we just have to hang on until then, but I am dying inside. Every little penny helps but I can't spend all my time online. I hope that people will support me with my submissions on Triond. I don't always post them on here because it might be considered spam unless I make a discussion out of it. For those who have been supporting me, I have added photos and another article if you'd like to check them out and help me earn some more pennies per view. I write under my given name Mary Patricia Bird at Triond.com. (Didn't give the exact link but it's enough info for you to find me ). We barely used the air conditioning this summer; you'd have thought the hydro bill would have gone down considerably. Not!

I'm about to be one of the ones that's tearing their hair out from paying all the bills. I have rent due this week and I just got our electric bill from last month and it's $9 more than it was before. I really wish it wasn't and I'm pretty sure I know why. We used our a/c quite a bit the past month even though I tried to cut down on it. We even switched to CFL bulbs here but we still ended up paying more. I'm kind of frustrated but it's to be expected I suppose. I'll have net to pay for in a few days, probably next week but thankfully the bill should be cheaper than it was before. I'm just hoping that things end up getting better soon and that it gets a lot easier to pay our bills in the coming days.

When my husband and I Were first starting out, and this was before we were married we only had one bill that had to be paid and that was my debt. We had to scrape together to get it paid on, and I don't think we'd have gotten it paid off before our wedding if it hadn't been for his grandparents. It was only about $1000 if not a little more, but neither of us had a job, he found one about a month before we got married. Now he's the only one working as I've not found another job yet. We still get by, but we are not saving as much as I'd like and I am not making as much as I'd like to be making online, and especially here on mylot. I've seen people suffer because of the stress of having to pay bills with money they just didn't have, and I never want to have to do that again, so saving is crucial and key for us here. As for your comment on getting excited over fifty cents, I get excited when I get three cents in my paypal, so that's a bit pathetic, but well money is money am I right?

Yes, I like to tear out my hair once our rent is paid since it takes my whole effing (love that non-word word!) check!! On the other hand, I am very happy to have a real house to live in, one with a fenced yard for the kids and dogs and one with a wonderful air conditioner (as opposed to a stupid swamp cooler). Plus I do have my own room with a lock on the door so it's almost totally worth it.

Well, I usually try to pay my bills before I start spending ,so I know exactly how much money I have left for food and fun stuff. Otherwise I know that I'm going to be in trouble.

If you just throw your bills away you don't have to pay them, that's what my 5 year old told me I hate paying bills but, my husband was nice enough to pay almost all of them this month and I didn't have to deal with that.
