Book readers are vanishing!!!!...

You are so right. I used to love to read alot when I was younger so that really help me learn as I was in school. Nowadays it's all computers and video games so kids just don't want to pick up books anymore.

You're right, there are so many online activities and games consoles now that people do not read as much. I still enjoy reading a book but I am of an age where there was no internet while I was growing up. My kids used to love books when they were young, now they are grown teenagers they still enjoy books but do not read as much as it is not a social activity.

i agree with you. most people that i know here dont read books that much. i've always been a reader ever since i was a child, and i love reading books, when i had a family of my own, i started buying books for my daughter, but unfortunately she is not a reader like me, same with my second and third child. none of them have gotten the love of reading that i had when i was a child.

and also its true that digital books or ebooks cannot compare to the real one, where we can touch and smell the pages, read sitting or lying down, and bring the book with us anywhere. with books there are so many things we can learn from them.

I do still read, several books a week usually. I am considering getting an ebook reader, I have so many pdfs that I haven't read because it simply isn't comfortable reading them at a computer, and printing them all out costs quite a bit.

I know I sure do not read as much as I used to at least in book format, although I do still enjoy reading when I get a chance. I just too often put it off to do other things.

Well...this is one book reader who is not vanishing....I love to read and it has been a passion of mine since I was a child. I also have been working in the library field for over eighteen years, and I love it. So, I would say, readers have not vanished from the libraries, at least not where I work. These days with the economy the way that it is, libraries are more in use then ever. Whenever I have the time, whether I am at work or at work, I am usually reading. I spend my time between the computer and books. If it came down to choosing, I would choose books every time. I agree about books given a person pleasure and imagination. By reading a book, you are entering a world that is not our own and we can learn so much from reading. As I said, I have a passion for reading. Where ever I am, I am usually seen with a book in my hand or near me. I am not sure what I would do if I did not have a book to read. I would most likely be the most bored person in the world. What can I say, I love to read. Always will.

I agree with you but there really is a lot of really good information on the internet now a days that can also help you learn quite a bit of stuff. Educated forums can give you multiple opinions from different people on the subject you are researching so you can figure out which one works best for you. I think that reading books and doing all research should be continued because it all adds to your knowledge.

yeah, books are here to stay..their maybe computers but we could not depend on them anytime especially when their is power failure and their is no way I could use my computer. E-books and online classes started to be introduce to the educational institution but with a slow approach until all the students get uses to it..me too is a book lovers and computer I uses it mostly for research and social networking. both have their own valuable purposes..

That may be true only to some extent. Because by reading a book or a couple of books one can get limited amount of knowledge. But when the same guy gets in touch with the internet, he virtually can have access to vast knowledge which one or two books can give. Although there are exceptions to this, exceptions cant be given as examples.

The only precaution to be taken is the constructive use of the available resources.
