I am tolerant when it comes to religion. But isn't it a big liberal thing...that they used to shout about all the time...to not mix religion with public affairs? I mean...the President is free to believe what he wants...but to sanction a specific religion with a state affair.

And I have to wonder how the families and friends of those killed on 9/11 feel about this? How did we go from saying never again...to hosting them at the White House honoring their religious beliefs?

Maybe he's just sucking up like you say....but I don't think that is good politics or good PR for Obama. Does he not care what we think? Obviously not.

Don't get me wrong...I know not all Muslims are terrorists...but this sort of feels wrong to me.

In The Holy Quran, God never tells Islam beleivers to harm other people! You check the holy book as the book is now translated to many languages. Are you sure that the terrorists are moslems? Do you know it by the uniforms they wore? Anybody can wear moslem uniforms and then they can do the killing.

Hey it's worth a try. If he really want to be President of the World he is going to have show fairness to all religions!!

I know you are not a Christian...but are you familiar with the prophecy in Revelation that there will be a one world religion...right up there with a one world government?

lol, somehow I don't think there is much chance I would be getting too many christians in my religious services, many of them consider me a devil worshiper.

Please note that it was a SMALL gathering NOT a big bang up celebration as is being held for Ramadan. The photo on the link shows show one table with a total of 15 people in attendance.......a very big difference in that number of guests!

When will people wake up to the fact that there is something bigger behind this than Republican/Democrat ideology?

I happen to be (was) a registered Democrat until O(NO)bama came on the scene. However what Bush did was not when one million Americans were out of work. the Nations debt had skyrocketed he did not use out tax dollars to celebrate Ramadan. So I personally could care less if the guest list was the same IMO Obama is still making very bad decisions by honoring Islam with my tax dollars!!!.

I read a article about the Obama's and Christmas it said the Obama's do not celebrate Christmas and in their Chicago mansion they never had a Christmas tree.
Muslim's do not celebrate Christmas being they do not believe Jesus Christ was the holy son of God.

Whether he celebrates it or not, it appears there will be money spent on it. I would be surprised if there isn't also a Christmas dinner at the White House.

So will this create as much outrage as him spending money on dinner for Ramadan?

You compare a Christian celebration in a predominantly Christian country (USA) with an Islamic highly religious ceremony in the country where Islamic terrorists have killed and will continue to kill Americans!!?@!! I am shocked with your comparison. I lived for 4 years in a Muslim country and I can assure toy there never was or ever will be a Christian (Christmas) celebration hosted by the Muslim Leader!!

Heather, put aside your hatred for just a moment. First you are right that there will never be a Christian celebration hosted by a Muslim leader. For that very reason I'm thankful I live in a country that guarantees a person's freedom to religion. Second, it's unfair to assume that just because the terrorists that attacked us are Muslim, that everyone who follows that faith is the same way. Just look at the few so-called Christians who are praying for the death of Obama, or picketing military funerals because of their mis-guided belief that God is punishing this country for allowing gays in the military. Third, although some of those invited are ambassadors, aren't most of them from here in the U.S. and likely U.S. citizens?

Based on my third point, are you against the President holding a dinner to recognize a significant religious event for some of it's own citizens? I'm all for Xfahctor being invited to the White House for Sahmain, or Senator Lieberman being invited for Passover. (Hope X doesn't mind his name being in the same sentence as Lieberman.)

Wow! Rose I missed that video thanks for the link. I could not believe my ears when Omaba actually said "MY MUSLIM FAITH" The interviewer had to correct him and get him to say Christian!!!!! Now I have NO DOUBTS!

It's always a Christmas celebration in Morocco... red and green everywhere. LOL
