Three different old men with three different old women. Each time they saw the plastic and rubber sword, had to "stab" their wives. Saturday must have been stab your wife with a rubber sword day.
I had old wall paper that I couldn't vouch for the paste being any good or the wallpaper being any good in any way any more, so it was in the free pile. This woman insisted on paying me $2 for it. She will probably help her Mother line drawers with it. Good idea.
No matter how many Mardi Gras coins I sold, and I tried to sell all the ones I saw every time someone wanted some, more Mardi Gras coins appeared. It was like there was some invisible machine making the dang things. I'd find them in a bag, a box, under this, under that. Amazing how many people wanted Mardi Gras coins. I had the necklaces, too, but very few people wanted the"beads," just the coins. That was the most popular purchase. Necklaces didn't keep appearing, just the coins. Maybe that means my luck is going to change? What do you think?
19 dollars in ones I received at the Yard Sale so I can stamp them all with "Where's George.com" That's my biggest "take" of Georges naturally coming to me. 19 is kind of a strange number, but I'll take it. I had started with only 4 ones that I had previously stamped.
Anything funny or strange happen at your sale?

Sounds like you had a fun day. We haven't had a sale in a long time. Hopefully we'll have ours in the fall. A lot of people like to travel the back roads at that time.

People love the sales up here during the Labor Day weekend. Wish I could have done it Friday, Saturday, and Monday. But I had to work Friday and my husband was in a parade Monday. Lots of people looking for school supplies since most schools start after labor day up here.
I hope your sale goes great! Backroads are beautiful in the fall. Your trees turn colors where you are?

All right! You input them into the site? You can write the site on the dollars that you recorded. Best to write in the margins on the right side with red ink pen. How far did they go?

That's great you also got rid of some things you didn't need. Believe it or not, I have never had a garage sale at our house. I did do one years ago with a friend at her house. It was loads of fun. Didn't make much money but enjoyed the day out in the nice weather and talking with friends and acquaintances. Any profit is good. I have seen some of the dollar bills stamped with "Where's George" but had no idea what it meant.

Yeah, about your 4th one, Government shows up and says to declaire yourself a business, pay tax on the 4th one, if you don't want a business, then cease and desist.

Yeah, usually one day of every yard sale that I have is fun. Now you know what where's george means on a bill. $40 for me, $30 for my brother and $8.50 for my hubbie. So every little bit helps! We can have 3 a year in NY State without paying taxes or having to have a business license. Glad you've had one. Yes, we're emptying out our upstairs so we can have room to work on projects this winter.

Yes, even if people just comment about where they might use something or how they might use it or what they're looking for, it's interesting. One year one lady was looking for tea pots for a tea pot collection and that's all she wanted.

I actually just signed up for the Wheres George website, it seems kind of interesting. But I only had one bill to add to my website.
Something that happened to me wasn't really funny, but it's still a story! lol
A guy had a baby chihuahua with him! Me and my nieces were all over him! lol I kind of got nervous when he let my nieces hold it, but he kept saying it was okay. He was trying to sell the puppies his chihuahua just had, and thats why he was carrying one around. If it was free I would have taken it in a second! lol

I don't have a Wheres George stamp, how did you get one?
I also had a lady walk by with her cute little shetland sheepdog! It was soo sweet! :) Usually when we are doing a sale I either have one of our dogs out with us, or my cat with her little harness and leash lol.

As you get more dollar bills, you can add them and then write on them. The dollars will come.
Animals show up all over around you, don't they dear? I only had a couple of dogs that were in a car with their Mommy while their Daddy looked around my yard sale. But two of the neighbor's cats came to visit. One eventually let me pet him, but the other one was not interested.
Thanks for responding and take care.

This company has an entire assortment of where's george stamps to choose from:
www.stamp-connection.com
Like I said, I don't recommend the $4 one. But the forum has a New User Q & A where you can read lots of neat stuff and you may like it. But the Top 10 is really cool, too. I like the zip code feature so you can figure out what areas are not near you and which ones aren't. Thanks and take care.

I haven't had a yard sale for 3 years....and nothing nearly exciting as the "multiplying" Mardi Gras coins! But we did have four Chinese gentleman that returned so many times for ONE tackle box filled with brand new fishing tackle...that the next time (last time) we saw them coming, we actually shut the yard gate...and said we were closed! Each time, they would offer less money, and follow you around for about a 1/2 hour trying to bargain! Four of them, like little puppy dogs...speaking in their language...then English! We had the sale, again the next day...and when we saw them coming...my son raced the tackle box into the basement...it never sold (as we forgot it there) and still today, it is a source of laughter...we think of how annoying & persistent these gentlemen were, as they had no regard for the other customers! Thanks for bringing up the memory...and hopefully you reduced your inventory..and made a BUNDLE! Cheers!

They must be magical mardi gras coins!
I would have told them that they don't seem to get the finer points of this yard sale thing. You don't offer less, you offer more and you don't drive people crazy either.

Not sure why this didn't come out the first time.
I think the mardi gras coins were magical coins. Maybe I shouldn't have sold them or maybe it's a sign that my money won't run out this year (one can only hope).
I think I would have told the gentlemen that they were missing the finer points of a sale. If the person says no, then you offer a little more money and not less. Plus you are not supposed to make a pest of yourself!
